Plenty to catch up after the holidays.
Good performance in the Vuelta with Hesjedal. You reached your objective! |

Surely there must be a few transfer rumours going around as to who will be joining Garmin-Cervelo next year? Hehe ;-) |

Thanks all.
@ Avin/Mitch: I am still planning to do so. Have first finish this season, than editing the PCM Daily DB a lot to have these stats here.
@ valverde: Haven`t even known this but the double with Hesjedal last year was already brilliant.
@ Bosskardo: Not weak but pretty weak for a PT race, at least none of the real team leaders there, just 2nd and 3rd best.
@Freitas: Indeed. Shame on me that I always forget to mention it. So 3/6 objectives achieved, 2 of them with good results although I missed the actual goal.
@Boet: My team stays for next year. Several pages back around the Tour preview I signed all new riders. So it will be more American with Phinney, Butler, Barton etc., also a French stage racer talent will be there and biggest name probably Roche for the Ardennes. |

So here the next report of the UCI World Championships 2012 in Prague. I checked lots of variants and in the end it was between Svam`s Barcelona and Prague WC. Prague won obviously.
Last year`s winner Wegmann not at the start. So Gerdemann, Martens might be my best chances for a good result although they are a bit weaker.
Also Cancellara isn`t here for the time trial.
UCI World Championships ITT
Prague - Prague
So the big favourite of course Tony Martin, but how could it be different, he is not in a good form. Also last year`s winner Boom could have had a better form to be honest. Ho fit is Contador after the Vuelta? Can he get the win here? Or Wiggins after a short race break? And how can the Garmin riders perform? With Sanchez, Boom, Bobridge/Meyer and Phinney we have 5 possible winners here.
Luis Leon Sanchez rides pretty early with Contador coming later. He set s a really nice time and takes the virtual lead.
1h03'52
Taylor Phinney already proved his big talent and wants to make another step forward. A strong 5th so far and not many riders left.
1h04'24
Jack Bobridge wasn`t doing that good. The course was too hard and the form to weak. He just finishes a bit ahead of his team mate Meyer.
1h05'40
Meanwhile Lövkvist beats the long lasting time of Sanchez by 10s and takes the lead. Great ride by the Swede and just 5 riders to come.
1h03'42
Also Lars Boom won`T repeat his success of the last year. But he had a great time with the rainbow colours.
1h04'39
Contador just won the Vuelta but this costed him a lot of energy. So no win for him today. He takes the 5th and kicks Phinney out of the top5.
1h04'20
Last but not least, Tony Martin. Can he beat Lövkvist?
As said his form isn`t very good, so the 10th was the maximum kicking Boom on the 11th.
A great win by Lövkvist, maybe the biggest in his career. Will he also ride the road race, which should suit him?

Lövkvist!
Too bad LLS couldn't take the win, but a Swede is just as good!

Good choice with Prague.. because I decided to play Svam's Barcelona Nice result for LLS. Too bad Martin was out of shape, but I like Lövkvist winning this WC-ITT

Thanks.
LLS was indeed pretty close.
UCI World Championships Road
Prague - Prague
A very hard race around Prague. Favourites are Frank Schleck, Cancellara, Devolder, Sagan, Kolobnev and Hesjedal. Surprisingly Gilbert is missing here as also Andy Schleck.
Team Germany will go for Gerdemann and Martens, while Ciolek is our joker with a good form after the Vuelta.
Marko Kump and Ben Day in the first break. Just two riders sounds a bit less.
Indeed. During the next lap more riders join them. One of them is Garmin rider Kreder. He might be the strongest in this group.
Meanwhile Albasini crashes and never comes back to support Cancellara.
Belgium with Vansummeren and Wynants and Didier for Luxembourg are doing the pace here. With Devolder and former World Champion Frank Schleck they have two great riders here.
No chance for the breakaway. With two more laps to go they are caught. When are the first attacks coming?
It`s Stijn Devolder and Ryder Hesjedal countering with the first move with 10km to go. Go Ryder.
Italy doing a high pace now for Gasparotto. Also Kolobnev and Sagan attack now and Gasparotto has to follow them.
Frank still in the pack as also Gerdemann.
And also Cancellara was still there. But with 4km he also attacks and chasing the leaders. Devolder still with a 40s gap to the rest.
With 3km to go and just one climb left Gerdemann attacks after Frank started his move. He still feels good.
Devolder will win the 2012 World Championships. After lapping some riders he leads with more than one minute ahead of Frank Schleck. What a ride by him. Very deserved one. His great form of the Vuelta really conserved until today.
Frank finishes 2nd with +1'14. He is a bit angry as he was very strong and should have attacked earlier.
Hesjedal reaches the finish in the next group as 5th. A good performance by the Canadian. Gasparotto on the podium.
In a close sprint Gerdemann gets the last top10 spot ahead of Spain`s Florencio. Also a pretty good result for the German of Leopard Trek.

Very surprising winner. He must be in outstanding shape I guess. Good race for both Hesjedal and Gerdemann.

Thanks for the comments. Agree with you. A 5th is good but not important in these races.
Just to let you know, that I try to convert DYN_Team, DYN_cyclist etc.
Unfortunately this is pretty hard due to all the new coloumns. Not 100% sure if I will have good success,
Things like popularity or regions must be added. And as there is no comparable DYN_cyclist of course with all the retired and new cyclists, this looks like adding these stuff step for step for 1873 riders. ;(
Some can be copied of course, but they will never be in the right order and so copying rider for rider I guess. |

Good luck with converting this to PCM11, roturn! Sounds like too much work imo Though it's definitely worth trying!

Thanks. I have half of DYN_cyclists done when realising it`s still hard to continue. ;(
popularity are done, although they aren`t 100% correct.
But regions would take the longest time.
So at the moment I consider to wait for the V1 PCM Daily and then just change the teams of the riders and add the new riders and their stats and limits, then I don`t have that much work to do as stats and limits can be copied quite easily. But still changing teams for 1750 riders and add 100 riders...
But on the other hand I always played a "long" career in old PCM`s and then gave them up when the new one was released. So I never really have a young talent doing something great. And as I have quite a lot time at the moment as new semester starts in 10th of Octobre and just 2 exams left at the end of September I want to give this a try.
Also some reports left for the 2012 season: Lombardia and season overview I think. |

Thanks.
With V1 now announced I might continue the converting and hope everything works fine.
Then probably I will finish the 2010 story today with the Lombardia report and a short overview.
I am not at home for the next 2 weeks then, but then I might start playing PCM11 with an hopefully converted database.
Thanks for your patience. |

Thanks all.
Due to something unexpected I wasn`t at home yesterday evening. So I wasn`t able to bring the Lombardia report. Plus I won`t be home for teh next 2 weeks.
Internet yes, playing or doing much PCM stuff no.
