Boonen MAY escape criminal charges for Cocaine use.
The belgian courts have given him a suspended sentence and said that being not allowed to start the tour is punishment enough.

Meanwhile, random Joe on the street who gets busted for cocaine use is now looking at the white lanes that separate cell blocks.

yes, yes, you love Boonen. We get it. We realized that when you mindlessly defended him the first time last year

I dont love him
I just think its unfair of you to imply that he got special treatment, if I did what he did I wouldnt get caught, and if I was I would get fined at best, not going to jail like you claim |

Well, if, as they have proven he didn't actually take cocaine then I am ok with him getting off.

No person faces jail charge after two or three incidental coke abuses. At least not in Belgium. Normal persons won't even get tested on coke (otherwise halve of a country would get punishment), so it is definately no special position for Boonen.
Come on, it is not illegal, it is in spare time, who cares. |

A friend of mine's been in Gent for 3 years now. This is what he keeps telling me. That telling a belgian that using cocaine isn't a normal thing that everyone does is like telling them the sun won't rise tomorrow.
It's amazing that a country can have that mentality.

Kohl apparently told the AFLD he had some information that would help catch potential dopers. To do with the way riders get around controls and such.
So he had a meeting with the AFLD today.

American Tejay Van Garderen (Rabobank CT) just signed a pro contract with Columbia. Last week he topped the GC at Circuito MontaƱes in Cantabria, and has enjoyed strong performances this season, taking the overall in Tour du Haut Anjou, and finishing second at the Olympia's Tour.

No miracle Columbia is so strong. They steal away all talents... they are now contracting almost all the strongest guys from the generation 88-90
I bet Rabobank is pissed now. What's the point of having a CT team, when Columbia is there, doing nothing except stealing talents as soon they get the chance |

Apart from T.Dekker, who had a fight with E.Dekker and Eisinga basically, they nurtured most of their talents, except the really failing ones like Eltink.
For instance, de Maar, Reus are still there even though they had no results (due to injuries, the Reus story is obvious, de Maar had broken his arm 2x). Other teams probably would not renew their contracts |

what i meant was that stealing was not exactly the right wording, bearing in mind van garderen is american and so are columbia and the fact that it's a professional sport and the person who signs them first wins
