What a f@#king finish!
Was that a group sprint?
Let's hope for a gap
There was a gap of 1 sec between 2nd and 3rd. (Curiously, Haussler and Hushovd)
My comment was for issoisso.
Don't care about the bet - it was too close. I put something like 1PCM on the group. |

There was a 2 sec gap, but who cares, that's a bunch sprint. A weird, weird weird bunch sprint at the end of an equally weird race, but still a bunch sprint
Saying that the number of riders in the group decides whether it was a bunch sprint is like saying that it's not a mountain stage unless someone wins solo

How's it even possible? Cavendish has never tried a race this long before, it's his first ever MSR, he never gets over hills usually. Now, he's won the MSR in his first attempt.
What happened on the Poggio is by far the most insane thing I've ever seen in cycling. It's literally the equivalent of the players standng around talking and laughing and leaving the ball alone in a champions league final...
this makes even less sense than when a train stopped the favorites in paris-roubaix or than when a horse jumped onto the road and trampled Zabel...
This was Cav. lifetime chanche and he took it..on Poggio dont know why they waited..there was Liquigas at the front then Quick step..and non great sprinters team didnt crack it..this is strange |

Man, you need to attack on the Cipressa and make it hard for the sprinters if you don't want a bunch sprint, and then attack earlier on the Poggio..

Let's give it up for Tom Boonen who was fantastic, as he always.....oh. right.

I stop predicting the outcome of cycling races as of today. Just when everything points one way, on raceday itself, everything goes the other way.
No hard race, no mad pace at the climbs, no attacks on the poggio. It's as the gods made everything ideal for Cavendish |

After the race:
"Boonen explained he had a shortage of water after the cipressa"
right. |

Rebellin and Pozzatto had a go on the Poggio.
Nothing like Ricco a couple of years ago - and he didn't manage to get away.
No one in the race capable of blasting away after the best part of 300k. |

year after year seems like Boonen should move he's "office" permanently to Belgium..(he can be succesful only there) |

Incredibly lucky day for Cavendish. He must have been parying to the cycling gods. Race evolved perfectly for him and he won by a couple of millimeters. Still, another awesome sprint by him.
Best moment of the day was the expression in Hushovd`s face after Haussler just f`ed off. |

1 Mark Cavendish (GBr) Team Columbia - Highroad
2 Heinrich Haussler (Ger) Cervélo TestTeam
3 Thor Hushovd (Nor) Cervélo TestTeam 0.02
and that means it wasn't a bunch sprint |

But, that was an amazing finish from Cav.
How many meters did he make up in the final 150m?

So what, Cav takes the win in the breakaway? |

Cue Mark Cavendish's ego going off the scales...
This win will look hilarious in the history books!
You can pick him out a mile in the bunch because of his ultra-fat legs
