contradicting yourself a little?
and the problem with British people is not that the people are ugly, it's just that they still try and flaunt it

Hello everyone I'm back!
The Gent Six Experience
Every year I look forward to the prestigious event of Gent Six. The 6 days of Madison racing mix with some more endurance events creates a great atmosphere in the velodrome. The tiny velodrome packed with thousands of spectators really raises the roof. Booming music and lots of beer are the order of the night, the shedual is packed with great events but the main event is the Madison where the riders must try to gain laps on opponents. The first night was amazing, I was actually surprised how good it was. Great racing at amazing speeds. I was sat near some of the local hero's (Iljo Keisse) fans and they were cheering all night. In fact if Keisse went off the front the whole Velodrome would roar to cheer on the local guys riding. The acceleration and style that he had on the track was just superb, he would just glide of the front and put down the acceleration pedal without a care. His changes with Bartko were just impeccable, Bartko was the powerhouse and he just opened up gaps and then would change with Keisse so that he could pull a wheelie at 50mph when he gained a lap, amazing! It was also great to see Zabel racing and it was a great feeling to be watching 6 times winner of the green jersey. He rode brilliantly it was a pleasure to watch him race. The racing goes on long into the night and it was about 2am by the time I got back to the hotel.
On the day before the racing we visited the Koppenberg the famous climb from the tour of flanders, it was something really special. To walk on the historic climb and feel the cobbles below my feet sent shivers down my back. I was out of breathe just climbing the thing. Just before we went to the Koppenberg we visited the tour of Flanders museum and that was something really special... There was so much history there even the guy running the place! Freddy Maertens two times world champion was there on the front desk and we got chatting and it was just amazing to be face to face with a former world champion, he gave us some small cards with a bar code on, when you went to a scanning machine the machine would tell you a lot about the rider on your card. There were turbos set up so you could climb some of the most famous clobbeled climbs but my most favourite machine was a cobble simulator. You would site on an old sturdy track bike and the rollers would bounce up and down as you pedalled it was great to see how bumpy the cobbles are. However it only did the back wheel and it would have been nice to have the front bouncing too. So after that we headed to the Koppenberg. Something amazing happened on the koppenberg actually because when we reached the top a big Mercedes passed us and parked at the top. Inside was Peter Van Petegem! He was on the climb showing some of his friends I think. I would have loved to have gone and talked to him but we only realised that it was him when we passed him in the car. So after the racing on the day that was day one over.
On the Sunday we had a late breakfast but the hotel were we stay has the most awesome breakfast, all you can eat. Sausages, cheese, eggs, toast pastry's. I love it especially the Danish pastries. So good! We had a wonder round gent before heading off to the velodrome and I tell you it was really cold!! It was trying to snow and it was fairly risky for us because we had to travel home on the same day! They don't grit the roads in Belgium so it was a little worrying we we walking inside the velodrome. The racing was amazing again and this time we were sat in the home straight just above the finish line! It was perfect, the derney racing was by far the best of what we got to see and it was won by zabel and Joop! Aka Fat Derney Man. After the derney race we went to check on the weather and it was white. The Snow had come down so hard and there was tonnes of it. So we had to make the decision to go back to the hotel and unfortunately miss the final Madison. But in end it was a great experience seeing the race and I would recommend it to anyone. I would have loved to have stayed but it would have been worse if we left any earlier.
So that's about it for the Gent Experience and I have to say its one of the best holidays I've been on. I cant wait until next year!
Thanks for reading, Smoothie |

Cool! i would like to do the same when I'm finished the gymnasium.... If you are qualifying, are you then going to work for a travel agency, or a local ski school?? |

How stupid could I be, and Dessel why do anything else. If I went skiing(read falling and failling) I'd stand on the side and watch all the danes making a fool out of them selves. Untill afterskiing, then it's my turn to make a fool out of myself

The best skiing in the world by far is in North America. Especially Canada.
