if i can finish 4th with an out of shape Petacchi then i'm sure he can challenge
can i just ask what the british teams are looking like this season? just want to know if they've made any really unrealistic signings like riders from south america etc. |

Stage 1
Very strong breakaway group - Laurent, Portal, Masciarelli (dunno which one ), Scheirlincx, Riblon and Leukemans.
Last escapee - Bjorn Leukemans - has just caught by peloton less then 2km to go...Lemair joined train with top sprinters, Fedrigo tries his luck on left side with AG2R train.
Bennati moves forward, Fedrigo´s position is still surprisingly promising!
And Bennati is a winner!
Petacchi is second ahead of Cavendish and Fedrigo. It was really close! Lemair takes nice 5th place.

Stage 2
Another stage for sprinters.
Today´s breakaway group. Morales Solis, Demaret and Malori. Malori will be rewarded by KOM jersey after stage.
Gadret fell down. One of potential favourites is out of game.
My men are well positioned before sprints again.
Cavendish sprints for clear victory, Lemair holds his rear wheel!
And Lemair takes 2nd place! That´s really amazing!!

Stage 3
Queen stage of Tour with hard climb in the end. It´s day for good mountainous riders!
Well, whre can I start? It´s very hard to describe history of this stage. It was madness, attack after attack all the time. And in the end there were only small gaps between riders, which gives good chance to win the Tour to Daniele Bennati. I call it irony So here are some pictures.
Andrea Masciarelli (the same one as in stage 1) is the first on highest point of Tour - Col de l´Espigoulier.
Mont Faron, final climb - demon in purple jersey welcomes all riders, peloton is almost together.
Le Boulanger moves in front, group of 9 riders formes in front.
Cheeeese!
Le Boulanger opens sprint, Fedrigo is good positioned, but exhausted.
Le Boulanger celebrates his victory, he will wear yellow jersey tomorrow!
Hard battle for podium places, Lloyd is 2nd ahead of Fedrigo and Uran.

Stage 4
As expected, this stage will decide in mass sprint. It looks hopeless for my team, on the other hand Danile Benatti moves at front.
And Bennati takes 2nd stage victory, now he´s only 6s behind! And I´m happy with Lemair´s performance, he takes another 2nd place, he was really fast in last kilometer

Stage 5
Last stage of Tour. Question of the day is: will Daniele Bennati gain some bonification to beat Le Boulanger in general classification?
Minor final: Malori fights with A.Masciarelli for KOM jersey. Masciarelli wins by 2 points.
Grand final: mass sprint. Daniele Bennati chose starange tactics, he opens sprint. It´s a good way to finish as fourth, Petacchi, Cavendish and Sulzberger are behind in train.
But Bennati is strong, only Petacchi and Cavendish are able to beat him. He achieved overall victory!

I´m satisfied although it was first race in season without podium place in GC. Especially Lemair was nice surprise for me in sprints.

One day classic hilly race, but last 30 km is flat. This is ideal profile for puncheurs with good stamina.
104km to go, Col de Mons - Breakaway group (Duclos-Lassalle, Willems, Senac, Le Mevel and Salerno) is close to highest point of race
Same place, 8min later
Larpe, Fedrigo´s main helper, fell down in descent and is forced to abandon.
35km to go, Cote des Tuilleres, last climb before finish. Early breakaway group was just caught, peloton is all together.
20km to go, Valverde opens attack! Di Luca follows, Fedrigo with Ginanni dedide quickly to counter.
Second wave - Lefevre, Vanendert, Gadret and Le Boulanger
Both groups formed into one. Only 10km to go.
Ginanni attacks leading group! Only Vanendert, Fedrigo and Valverde follow.
And Valverde is in big troubles, he is struggling.
Vanendert attacks and gains nice advantage!
But Fedrigo fights and is getting closer!
Shame, that was close...
...Lefevre sprints over Ginanni and takes 3rd place.

Only 3 riders are involved in today´s break - Janek Tombak, Zak Dempster and Italian veteran Gilberto Simoni.
Tombak ain´t satisfied with tempo and decides to continue alone.
Huzarski attacked in final hill, Guillou, Lefevre, Champion, Fedrigo, Ardila and Morizot followed. They caught Dempster with Simoni easily.
Tombak has just caught, Champion attacks again!
Only Ardila can follow, Fedrigo in difficulties! It´s first time this season, when Pierrick totally lost control over race!
Ardila moves forward...
...and takes a win! Champion is 2nd and new overall leader. Fedrigo sprints as 3rd, loosing his jersey by 7s.

Stage 4
Last chance to take yellow jersey back.
18km to go. Early breakaway group is 3min ahed of peloton, they will succeed! However here are no dangerous riders.
10km to go, Valach attacks leading group, only Bouyer and Fabry can follow.
Last kilometer, steep hill until finish, Bouyer looks as strongest.
At the same moment, we have prepared big surprise for opponents. Guillou opens attack for Fedrigo, goal is clear - make a gap and take some seconds...will it be work?
Bouyer wins ahead of Valach and Fabry!
Fedrigo sprints as 10th, there is really small gap between him and peloton! Pierrick is back in yellow!!!
