Using tests on old outdated samples is very suspicious as well. How does that make EPO appear in them ? Will my pee show an EPO use if I keep it for half a century ?
Not even mentioning Ferrari, the cancelled positive corticoids test, and such things. |

I especially like how Zomegnan suddenly makes up that the Rome laboratory already was testing for CERA in May....when the test wasn't ready for use until the national championships in late June.
Surely they can't be protecting the riders, and the fact that no positives ever come from the Giro is just a coincidence.
So we must come to the only conclusion we can possibly come to that hasn't been ruled out yet: RCS has a time machine.....

Manager of Amore e Vita Ivano Fanini has told a rather funny story - it's not very surprising if it's true, though. He says that Pantani was doped throughout the entire Giro 1998, but that he avoided a positive doping test by bribing Riccardo Forconi, the only clean Mercatone Uno-rider at that time, to switch his and Pantani's tests -- which meant that Forconi tested positive, Pantani negative.
Shortly after, Riccardo Forconi moved into a large villa in Toscana, Italy.
Just finally read the interview thanks to Oliuj. Fanini has been outspoken against doping for years. he's deep in the sport, he knows perfectly what's going on and is a no bullshit character.
His commentary on the worlds was simple
"Gold medal - doped. Silver medal - doped. Bronze medal - doped" |

Lance Armstrong has said that if he meets too much problems on his way to the Tour (e.g. people constantly accusing him of drugs, the organizers being annoyed etc.), he won't take part.
Well, Lance, couldn't you just forget that comeback? |

With Zomegan inviting him and being very easy on dope, it's clear enough he'll go to the Giro (and the Vuelta ?) and not to the Tour. That also makes sense with Contador saying he'll remain at Astana and will be the team captain during the TDF. |

Another positive. Stefano Cavallari. Rides for Acqua & Sapone, rode previously for Barloworld and Vini Caldirola (aka Saunier Duval).
No substance named.
suddenly the "he can't be doped, because his performances aren't extraterrestrial" crowd are very silent, as they always are when average riders test positive

Yes, it's all adding up now. It'd still be a pretty huge surprise if Armstrong decided not to show up at the Tour, though. |

Nah, he'd just play the conspiracy theory again. "The French are so pissed that a brave American won their national tour seven times that they are ready to do anything to prevent myself from riding it again. They're harming the fight against cancer, which is a real shame from them. I love France but they could never admit I've been riding fair for all those years, sad people really." Something like that. |

If he can, he will show up in le Tour for sure! That is where the money is!
In other, somewhat related news, AFLD is done testing those suspicious samples. Kohl was the last to go down. Source L'Equipe. |

There is no way Armstrong would volentarily skip the tour, he is basically after publicity and le tour has by far the best viewership

Other sources also quote the AFLD as saying that all the tests have been done.
A total of 30 samples were considered "very suspicious" and thus tested. Since the test if new and very unreliable, only these were caught. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the list of riders that was going around was the list of suspicious riders. |

Kohl wants B samples tested
Bernhard Kohl has asked the French Anti-Doping Agency, AFLD, to test the B samples of his positive controls for CERA, the Austrian Cycling Federation (ÖRV) announced Tuesday.
After Kohl's manager, Stefan Matschiner, said that the Austrian would make this request, the ÖRV announced that Kohl had done so. "Should these also be positive, then we will move against him as hard as possible," said ÖRV Preisident Otto Flum.
Flum added that he had talked to Kohl "and advised him to lay his cards on the table and name the people in the background. Now it is up to him, how he and his manager plan to go from here." (SW)
Macquet wrote:
"We all know that wasn't the real footage of the Worlds anyway. That was just the staged footage to perpetuate the coverup that it was actually Vinokourov that won the race."
