Hopefully Boonen won't be in the game because of his cocaine problem
(I really have no idea about any of your questions, so I'm dodging them by saying things that aren't really relevant)

You'll need to wait for the game (or demo) to see how it all works - more like real life due to scaling, but with worse graphics than PCM. I'll be getting both games anyway. |

Its going to be quite a rush when you press the x512 button, ain't it?
In EuroTour, you simply quitted to some sort of pause screen when using the fast forward button. You could then follow the groups on the screen (in text), like when clicking on the space bar in PCM
(I know you were joking, but still) |

Yeah, I was joking - but thats good to know. I also had Eurotour on my PC but for some reason the game framerate was trudgingly slow whenever I played it, despite the fact I can play the latest games no problem on my PC with graphics settings turned up a little
The worst part was when I tried to skip the game as you described - the game crashed to desktop, everytime |

Nero from revo-world has found some new screenshots at a website, who sells Cycling Evolution. Unfortunately, they aren't very big, but the pictures show parts of the game menus, which is new parts of the game.
Here's an appetizer:

That's a lot better looking than PCM (the interface, non-racing part)

I see Omloop Het Vok, P-N, T-A, Criterium International, M-SR and Rund um Köln. Dont tell me they've actually secured licenses for those races.
Other than that, ive seen worse but i still need more pictures to form a complete opinion and such.

These screens look really good ..
But I can't figure it out .. The riders and teams have the real name but the jerseys aren't .. maybe some of the betatesters has tested the editor ?

But, hey, I will buy it.

I think i'll buy it .. PCM08 gotta wait until august with that .. Because I get my new computer
But I think it would be wise to wait for a demo and try the game before buying it .. Who knows the interface looks good but the AI could be shit .. |

Nero says that he thinks the real-names are just in the beta and they will be removed for the actual game.
However Faxnico on the Crimson Cow forum had a pretty good idea.

I would prefer a different approach here, really easy and fast to implement btw.
You place in an external file some boolean keys, one for every game mode:
Code:
MANAGER_NAMES_SHUFFLING 0 or 1
RACE_NAMES_SHUFFLING 0 or 1
TUTORIAL_NAMES_SHUFFLING 0 or 1
EDITOR_NAMES_SHUFFLING 0 or 1
When for example you enter in the manager mode and its names-shuffling key is setted to 1 (true) do something as follow for every string:
if the name lenght is > 0
- if it contains vowels --> pick the first one and change it to the next different vowel in the ascii table
- if it doesn't --> pick the last consonant and change it to the next different one in the ascii table
Result:
Ullrich --> Allrich
Pantani --> Pentani
etc...
Following this way, the user just need to switch the keys values from 1 to 0, at his own risk, and the names will be showed correctly without rebuilding the whole database. It works like a mask because in the meantime the db strings will be saved correctly (Ullrich, Pantani, etc...).
