I actually thought Prevar had it there, dream got shattered rather quickly... Great performance still, and my abilities to tell the future show themselves once again, if only that could happen during transfers so I wouldn't sign crap like Krasnoperov...
Looking at how things are going I should win the next stage, which would mean crappy Krasnoperov would win the MTT... Nope.
Poor Orlov is really struggling, next normal stage it'll probably be over.

But SotD, it's not like Ricco "only" has two, three or four minutes down to those climbers who are equal or worse to him, who you fear. Guldhammer is ten minutes behind in sixth
Indeed another impressive performance from Ricco, for me he's the favourite now. The mountain stage with a downhill finish is arguably a stage where chances of the favourites finishing together are greater than to see them not finish together, based on the AI for such mountain stages, which only leaves the TT and two mountain stages.
And facts tell us Ricco has finished together with Schleck on two of three mountain stages so far. Definitely wide open, and it will be really, really interesting to see the TT and how much Schleck and Madrazo can take back.
Not ideal for Guldhammer to loose more than a minute and almost a minute to Brajkovic and Pozzovivo, but the Slovenian has been very impressive so far. And finishing together with all other favourites (except for Ricco) is obviously good.
Congratulations to wackojackohighcliffe on the win, and Siutsou being first on both mountain sprints means he might be a contender for the jersey.
Thanks for the report, roturn! |

Perfect result for us, to have a rather big group staying away as it means that Ricco stays in 2nd on the points jersey. Also no trouble at all for us today was very pleasant. Now it's all up to Ricco, and we can't blame the team for doing badly, despite not being strong.
Really sucks for some of the GC hopefuls to lose a minute here. I know the feeling! It isn't the way one wants to lose a spot or two in the final GC.
I'm really interested in the Mountains TT to see just what the deficit of MO/TT will do here. Will TT mean nothing or will it give a bit? Ricco with his 82MO should be doing OK, but still lose quite a significant amount of time on a few of those behind. If Ricco can get a position around 10th +/- a few spots in the TT, and lose less than 3 minutes on Andy Schleck we are happy, as it means another day in the Maglia Rosa. I am pretty sure I will lose the jersey on stage 17, but he might be able to still sit on the 2nd or 3rd place by then - If lucky.
Fingers are crossed that Ricco will do a decent TT, and get a few more points to the points competition, so he might stay in the overall top 3 of that ranking.

A pity for those GC riders who lost a minute there, but admitedly the final kilometers were difficult enough to create splits, just unfortunate that they were caught on the wrong side of it.
De Bie showing some of his potential, that was a perfect finish for him.
Somehow we still lead the teams competition, but now we really need to get into breakaways again if we're going to miraculously hold on to it, that's for sure
And thanks for another report, roturn |

Horrible afternoon in both Cali and Italy
Stupid losses for Pozzovivo. Again no breakaway appearance (which is obviously pretty stupid in Italy) and Goss chanceless for the stage win. Well, tomorrow can only become better then. I hope.

Kreder nowhere to be seen and Brambilla loses even more time. Not a good day.

Nice try by Danacik and another decent sprint effort by Vesely, some solid stage results here and there are slowly helping us to make this GT at least respactable points wise. Hopefully Velits have a superb day or two in at least one of the next few stages - it would be really great if he could at least beat Guldhammer and Brajkovic for 5th place overall in Torino.

Mixed emotions.
Great to see old red bull loaners prevar and de bie go head to head, but denied an unlikely stage success with Guerao. Encouraged though by oscars resilience and that he is still going on nicely.
Second rung GC men losing time is bad for morale here we go into crucial ones too.
Thanks roturn again superb pace and consistency.

About stage 14 - what a fricking performance yet again by brajko on a hilly stage did definetely not expect to regain 4th in GC over Cunego on a hilly stage pre-giro!
Stage 15 were good for us eventhough Anton lost a minute, way worse for people who lost an actual minute with their main GC-guy and not to forget, actually gets points from this race
Somehow ending in a top 5 when this race is finished would be absoloutly amazing!

Ginanni showed fighting spirit several times, last stage it was Gallego Martin attacking, hopefully Faiers will imitate them in remaining mountain stages!

Been away for some days and caught up now on what is an extremely interesting Giro. Apart from that silly gaps in hilly stages, which are terrible. Which GC favourites would constantly loose minutes on a hilly GT stage? This edition just goes from one extreme to another - no gaps on hilly stages in PCM13 to extreme gaps this year.
Ricco leading is cool and makes the race very interesting, i think that podium is secured for Festina, bar any disasters, he can maybe even pull that overall win? Congrats SotD!
If i am counting it right, we are left with 6 guys here, but half of that number are one of the last guys in the GC, Hacecky for lanterne rouge!
Nah, i expect us to finish with three guys really...
Perfect reporting Roturn!

Very happy to see my loanee Ruben Fernandez in the breakaway on stage 14, that's what I was hoping he would do. Also a good effort to finish 4th. Can only hope he will go in one more successful breakaway!

Just okay. Nothing more, nothing less. Ricco though
It's too late to pay for a stage-win, right?

I expected him to do poorly here to be honest, and like I said, he will løse the Jersey on the next stage. All the talks about him winning the race, feels like people have forgotten about what has happened before. No chance he will win, and he have to be lucky like shit to podium.
Seeingn Cunego in 6th is worrying when looking at the points competition. I would have really liked it if Ricco still had 15-20 points to the next climber at this point, which really should have been possible.
Riders such as Denifl and Velits will be dangerous at this point. Cunego might be stronger in the mountains aswell.

Finally a good stage by Denifl. Some redemption for him. This took him into striking position for 5th, even though I doubt he will take it I got some hope. I just hope he got some good stages in the mountains to come now, and then got a good TT (for him)

Had hopes for a stage win, so not the greatest result. The tussle with Madrazo continues. Suspect Andy will need at least 2 minutes ahead of the flat ITT, so work to do there.
Who knows with Ricco. Has finished with Schleck on 2/3 Mountain stages so far. So while he should drop down to 3rd over the next couple of stages, there's no guarantee.
Alpe d'Huez next, so let's have some of that Schleck Tour de France form!
