the way you're pumping out the GC wins promotion should be no problem for you, and those signings are really nice, they'll definately push your team to the next level and as they are all fairly young they will help the team for a few seasons to come.

@ sutty68 & welker3257: Tx. On a 2.2 race, it is becoming too easy though
@ sammyt93: Hope so. And tank you everyone for recruitments advises: I've just sticked to them
Objectives
Sure it is a 2.1 race but with Gerdemann approaching his top form we have to be ambitious:
- overall win,
- 2 stage wins
- Points or KoM
Key Stages
Stage 2 – Mountain
With an arrival at the top, we send Powers and Butler in counter of a large break with a 5’ lead.
Powers does a great job and Butler has some time to rest in the break. Unfortunately Rujano’s team Androni has decided to chase and the gap is quickly reducing.
At the front Butler is easily getting free of his non climber breakaway companions and at the back Gerdemann is sticking to Rujano’s wheel like a leeches.
Ultimately suspense remains at the 1 kilometre point: Butler is still ahead but Rujano and Gerdemann are closing the gap.
Until Butler gets caught and Gerdemann beaten in the sprint.
Stage 3 – clm -12km
If we want to get the overall win Gerdemann has to cease the yellow today and put as much gap as possible with Rujano. Mission done with a stage win as a bonus and a 27’’ lead in GC.
Stage 5 – Mountain
The most difficult stage. An outsider only 3’ down in GC and good climber breaks free so we have to react. Rather than asking Butler to lead the back as he is the only one up to the task, we ask him to counter. It works as Lampre and Movitar are now leading the pack and reducing the gap, even after Butler is cought back.
Gerdemann then does a great job sticking to Rujano as long as possible and finish second of the stage with such a small gap that he preserves his lead in GC for 14’’!
Classifications
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 20h18'10 | 2 | José Humberto Rujano Guillen | Androni Giocattoli - Cipi | + 55 | 3 | Ivan Velasco Murillo | Movistar Team | + 1'47 | 4 | Przemyslaw Niemiec | Lampre - Isd | + 2'01 | 5 | Julien Loubet | Konya Torku Seker Spor - Vivelo | + 2'54 | 6 | José Rodolfo Serpa Perez | Androni Giocattoli - Cipi | + 3'58 | 7 | Diego Ulissi | Lampre - Isd | + 4'01 | 8 | Christopher Butler | Dual Temp | + 5'06 | 9 | Oscar Pujol Munoz | Andalucia Caja Granada | + 5'23 | 10 | Branislau Samoilau | Movistar Team | + 5'50 |
Stage 1 | Sacha Modolo | Colnago - Domina Vacanze | Stage 2 | José Humberto Rujano Guillen | Androni Giocattoli - Cipi | Stage 3 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | Stage 4 | Gianluca Brambilla | Colnago - Domina Vacanze | Stage 5 | José Humberto Rujano Guillen | Androni Giocattoli - Cipi | Stage 6 | Vitaly Buts | Lampre - Isd | Points | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | Mountain | José Humberto Rujano Guillen | Androni Giocattoli - Cipi |
Wrap up
2/3
- overall win,
- 2 stage wins
- Points or KoM
Grabbing the GC on this profile and against Rujano is a great performance, 1 stage win as well knowing we finish 2nd to Rujano twice. Only regret is to have Loutit finish 3rd for KoM but with same number of points as the winner!

@ sutty68 & The Rider: Could Linus rank lower than his team mates? He had to react! (and still has some work to do )
@ welker3257 & The Rider: I hope I can count on him. But the truth is he is having a bad year and with Nerz and Alberio progressing like this, he will have to do something if he wants to do more than bringing bottles to his leaders
For the first WT race in the team history, we are facing a huge competition and Gerdemann is not listed in any favourite list.
Early in the race we have a rather large break away with strong names such as Lovkvist or Marcato, they are taking a good lead.
Albasini and Montfort are countering and soon enough only 7 men remains at the front with a shrinking lead. Names are impressive though: Baredo, Sorensen, Marcato, Velasquez, Albasini and Montfort and they can very well makes it to the end.
In the bunch there many attacks and Gerdemann has to work hard to stay with the best. The rest of the team is now well behind. But as a result a group of 31 recomposes at the front with 20 kilometres to go. All the favourites are there. Gerdemann also is.
He decides to take Evans’ wheel and Evans does attack! Burning his last force he gets in the group of 6 together with Evans, Schleck, Brajkovic, Gesink and Hesjedal.
With few reinforcements from the back that is the small group that will dispute the win in a sprint.
Evans finally wins and our team is more than happy with a fantastic Top 10 for his first WT participation.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Cadel Evans | Bmc Racing Team | 6h01'23 | 2 | Robert Gesink | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 3 | Fränk Schleck | Euskaltel - Euskadi | s.t. | 4 | Andreas Klöden | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 5 | Tejay Van Garderen | Bmc Racing Team | s.t. | 6 | Joaquin Rodriguez Oliver | Katusha Team | s.t. | 7 | Janez Brajkovic | ProTeam Astana | s.t. | 8 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | s.t. | 9 | Daniel Moreno | Katusha Team | s.t. | 10 | Ryder Hesjedal | Garmin - Barracuda | s.t. |
This quarter has been the best for the team ever. As at end of July, we have 46 victories this year so far, including our first 6 victories in HC races, and only 18 in category 2 races where we got the bulk of it last year. Our team won’t bother cat 2 races anymore but for preparation.
This put us in a unique spot to promote next year. It is not 100% done but with such a good lead on Cofidis we are touching the goal.
Many riders have contributed with still 4 of them in Top 10.
As far as progresses are concerned, two of our young guns have been astonishing his year: Nerz and Alberio are on track to contest WT successes probably not next year but hopefully soon enough to benefit the team

@ welker3257: Hope you are not over optmistic
@ sutty68: I'll do my best. Gerdemann is at the top at the moment!
Yes! We have been accepted here too so we’ll race our second and last WT for this season.
Stage 1 to 4
The first 3 stages are desperately flat and we got 3 sprints for a strong German domination:
Stage 1
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | André Greipel | Lotto - Belisol | 2h18'25 | 2 | John Degenkolb | Project 1t4i | s.t. | 3 | Simon Geschke | Bmc Racing Team | s.t. |
Stage 2
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | André Greipel | Lotto - Belisol | 3h31'50 | 2 | John Degenkolb | Project 1t4i | s.t. | 3 | Francisco Jose Ventoso Alberdi | Movistar Team | s.t. |
So guess what happens in stage 3?
Nope, you got it wrong:
Stage 3
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | John Degenkolb | Project 1t4i | 3h09'39 | 2 | Roger Kluge | Saxo Bank Sungard | s.t. | 3 | Francisco Jose Ventoso Alberdi | Movistar Team | s.t. |
Stage 4 is supposed to be hilly but the last hill is more than 50 kilometres from the finish line. However there was no sprint today as a break away with poorly ranked riders makes it:
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Giacomo Nizzolo | RadioShack - Nissan - Trek | 4h30'03 | 2 | Wilco Kelderman | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | 3 | Eros Capecchi | Liquigas - Cannondale | s.t. |
No change to the GC though.
Stage 5 - Hilly
“Today is the real test. Together with tomorrow it will decide the final GC. So Linus you are our man for the GC. Alastair, you should go in the break and get the Mountain points.”
Loutit does a great job in the break collecting 40 points in a terrible battle with Kelderman. At one point of time the break has more than 5’ with less than 50 kilometres to go, it sounds very good especially as no one dangerous for GC is in the break.
However the wind is terrible today and when the bunch wakes up the gap is melting away. In the final 8 kilometres the remaining break way men got only 35’’ left
when French national champion attacks.
It looks so good for him, until one outsider makes a desperate effort to come back in his wheel with 4 kilometres to go. And all the other favourites are now chasing very hard so Chavanel has no choice but to keep pushing with Gerdemann waiting patiently for the final sprint.
With 1 kilometres to go he launches his sprint and
That is a marvellous win, obviously the first in a WT race in the team’s history. A small deception though as no time gap is taken into account so Gerdemann ranks only 3d in GC down 12’’ to Degenkolb and Greipel.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 6h07'08 | 2 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma QuickStep | s.t. | 3 | Simon Spilak | Sky ProCycling | s.t. |
Stage 6 – Hilly
“Very similar to yesterday, so stick to the same tactic and hope for the best.”
Loutit succeeds again to makes the break and secures KoM. There was no hope for victory today though.
When Chavanel attacks, Gerdemann counters as yesterday…
Except today Scarponi is ahead and wins the stage. Except today Gerdemann couldn’t close the gap. Except today time gap is counted. So Gerdemann ranks 4 in GC behind today’s Top 3.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Michele Scarponi | Lampre - Isd | 5h39'09 | 2 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma QuickStep | + 26 | 3 | Damiano Cunego | Lampre - Isd | s.t. | 4 | Yury Trofimov | Katusha Team | + 50 | 5 | Simon Spilak | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 6 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | s.t. |
Stage 6 – Flat
“There is a small hill 8 kilometres from the line, let’s make sure Linus takes his chance. Objective is Top 3 today.”
Gerdemann does attack in the last hills but the gap isn’t enough and Degenkolb wins the stage. However the acceleration has created a split in the bunch and Chavanel is in the wrong part!
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | John Degenkolb | Project 1t4i | 3h00'31 | 2 | Francisco Jose Ventoso Alberdi | Movistar Team | s.t. | 3 | Leigh Howard | GreenEdge | s.t. |
Final GC
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Michele Scarponi | Lampre - Isd | 28h19'02 | 2 | Damiano Cunego | Lampre - Isd | + 32 | 3 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | + 50 | 4 | Simon Spilak | Sky ProCycling | + 56 | 5 | Tony Martin | Omega Pharma QuickStep | + 1'57 | 6 | Michel Kreder | Garmin - Barracuda | s.t. | 7 | Sylvain Chavanel | Omega Pharma QuickStep | + 2'15 | 8 | Yury Trofimov | Katusha Team | + 2'51 | 9 | Tom Jelte Slagter | Rabobank Cycling Team | + 3'37 | 10 | Alexandre Geniez | Project 1t4i | + 4'16 | Points - André Greipel
Mountain - Alastair Loutit
Getting a GC Top 3, KoM and our first ever WT win makes the Tour de Pologne an historic race for the team!

Great results in Poland, and that shows you've already got some riders that could compete so with the new additions you're looking good to compete next year.

@ sammyt93: exactly what I thought
@ sutty68 & welker3257: Great result indeed and Linus is going on:
Stage 1 – Prologue - 4,6km
“Back home after this historical race we should target the overall win and at least 1 stage and KoM”
Gerdemann does much better by winning the prologue with an astonishing lead.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 7'28 | 2 | Stefan Schäfer | Funvic - Pindamonhangaba | + 11 | 3 | John Murphy | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 12 |
Stage 2- Hilly
“It seems the competition is weak in Utah, time for Alastair to claim the KoM and Linus to get stage win and comfortable GC lead.”
We did just that: Loutit makes the break and the KoM lead, Gerdemann attacks in the final to get a solo win over a small pack.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 3h58'51 | 2 | Jorge Martin Montenegro | Mtn Qhubeka | + 56 | 3 | Ramunas Navardauskas | Team Bonitas | s.t. |
Stage 3 – Hilly
“The stage is harder than yesterday but same tactic applies.”
We control the race until the 2nd climbers where Loutit attacks and breaks alone. The bunch splits in many pieces chasing him. The 2nd group is reduced to 10 men with Gerdemann and Butler
However Loutit maintains the gap pushing a little bit hard. When he looks too tired, it is less than 20 kilometres to go and Gerdemann joins him.
Behind Butler counters and slows down the chase. However Loutit is too tired and cannot follow Gerdemann even if he has significantly slowed down.
He gets back and few men are struggling for podium places 4’30 after Gerdemann has crossed the line…
Butler and Loutit are now ranked 6th and 7th in GC.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 4h15'36 | 2 | Gregory Juel Brenes Obondo | Movistar Team Ct | + 4'33 | 3 | Ramunas Navardauskas | Team Bonitas | + 4'51 | 4 | David Boily | Team SpiderTech Powered By C10 | + 5'01 | 5 | Christopher Butler | Dual Temp | + 5'13 | 6 | Jay Robert Thomson | Mtn Qhubeka | + 5'21 | 7 | Alastair Loutit | Dual Temp | + 5'30 |
Stage 4 – Flat
With a strong wind, Gerdemann attacks in the final, once team mates are tired from chasing. He creates a nice gap of 40’’ and it looks like he’s gonna make it. Again.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Ramunas Navardauskas | Team Bonitas | 3h56'40 | 2 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | s.t. | 3 | Jorge Martin Montenegro | Mtn Qhubeka | s.t. |
Stage 5 – ITT
Easy win for Gerdemann. Butler and Loutit have each lost 1 place in GC.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 18'34 | 2 | Ignacio Sarabia Diaz | Movistar Team Ct | + 5 | 3 | John Murphy | UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling | + 10 |
Stage 6 – Flat
With 4 hills in the final 40 kilometres, we got Loutit to attack. The team mates are moving to the front and running hard. He is caught back with 25 kilometres to go but as Butler is tired our guess is that almost anyone in the bunch is suffering. We ask Loutit for an extra effort of 3 kilometres at the front of the bunch until Gerdemann attacks.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 3h48'45 | 2 | Gregory Juel Brenes Obondo | Movistar Team Ct | + 45 | 3 | Jesse Anthony | Trek Livestrong U23 | s.t. |
Final GC
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 16h25'18 | 2 | Gregory Juel Brenes Obondo | Movistar Team Ct | + 7'21 | 3 | Ramunas Navardauskas | Team Bonitas | + 7'52 | 4 | Jay Robert Thomson | Mtn Qhubeka | + 8'10 | 5 | David Boily | Team SpiderTech Powered By C10 | + 8'31 | 6 | Phil Zajicek | Bissell Cycling Team | + 8'37 | 7 | Christopher Butler | Dual Temp | + 8'47 | 8 | Alastair Loutit | Dual Temp | + 9'11 | 9 | Caleb Fairly | Team SpiderTech Powered By C10 | + 9'28 | 10 | Sergio Pardilla Bellon | Movistar Team Ct | + 10'33 | Points - Linus Gerdemann
Mountain - Alastair Loutit
We missed the Grand Slam by a wheel… Still an incredible race at home. WT promotion seems granted with less than 3 months to go and 1400 points lead on Cofidis, currently the 3rd Continental Team in World ranking.

Nice to see Gerdemann beat a Costa Rican, a German and a Argentinian on his way to a big victory.
Butler and Loutit were fantastic in Utah. I think you should give one of them the lead in one of the remaining races of the season.

@ sutty & welker: well if Linus was on fire, he could very well be burning now
@ The Rider: Both did well, I would indeed have Loutit lead some races before the season end if I can (he is stronger than Buttler on the hills).
Stage 1- Hilly
“The stage is classified hilly but it is flat for the last 60 kilometres so we can expect a massive sprint. Linus you try to anticipate the sprint. Your goal is to beat Cofidis’ Dumoulin on the overall GC for this HC race!”
Gerdemann fails for the stage but Dumoulin as well.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Sébastien Turgot | Team Europcar | 4h51'06 | 2 | Anthony Roux | Ag2r La Mondiale | s.t. | 3 | Anthony Geslin | FDJ - BigMat | s.t. | 4 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | s.t. | 5 | Samuel Dumoulin | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | s.t. |
Stage 2 – ITT -12 km
“Linus you are 2nd favourite, you should give the win a try and create the biggest possible gap with Dumoulin in GC.”
Gerdemann does a great race. He takes the stage, the yellow and creates a nice gap in GC.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 14'16 | 2 | Anthony Roux | Ag2r La Mondiale | + 15 | 3 | Bert Grabsch | Omega Pharma QuickStep | + 16 | 13 | Samuel Dumoulin | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | + 35 |
Stage 3 – Hilly
“Great job Linus. You are again 2nd favourite to Dumoulin today, so let’s secure the overall win!”
We let a break go but with 30 kilometres to go Le Boulch has created a nice 3’30 gap. As he is 57’’ down in GC our lead is threaten and we ask the team to ride full spead in the lastest difficulties of the stage.
The gap is reducing but not fast enough and we got no one else’s help. With 13 kilometres and more than 2’ lead for Le Boulch, Gerdemann anticipates his move to ensure he keeps the lead in GC.
Great move in fact: he is going to fail on the line for the stage win but increase his GC lead.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Dimitri Le Boulch | BigMat - Auber 93 | 4h32'36 | 2 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | s.t. | 3 | Samuel Dumoulin | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | + 50 |
Stage 4 – Hilly
“Again you have to pay attention to Dumoulin and Duque today. I would like another stage win to conclude this race!”
We control the race well until in the final the favourites start attacking. Gerdemann stays clam and wait for Duque’s move to come back to the front. He then changes his tactic and decides to follow Dumoulin’s attack with 5 kilometres to go.
Dumoulin has to do all the job and when the sprint come Gerdemann still has enough power to take the win.
The picture illustrates well the race: Gerdemann in front and the two Cofidis far behind.
Final GC
Loutit ‘s race in particular is to be highlighted once again: Top 10 of a HC race together with KoM and huge work for his leader. Congrates to him.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 14h37'51 | 2 | Jérémy Roy | FDJ - BigMat | + 1'25 | 3 | Samuel Dumoulin | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | + 1'31 | 4 | Anthony Geslin | FDJ - BigMat | + 1'36 | 5 | Leonardo Fabio Duque | Cofidis, le crédit en ligne | + 1'38 | 6 | Dario Cataldo | Omega Pharma QuickStep | + 1'42 | 7 | Dimitri Champion | Bretagne - Schuller | + 1'45 | 8 | Dimitri Le Boulch | BigMat - Auber 93 | + 2'25 | 9 | Alastair Loutit | Dual Temp | + 2'58 | 10 | Christopher Butler | Dual Temp | + 3'07 |
Points - Linus Gerdemann
Mountain - Alastair Loutit
Stage 1 – Prologue 7.7km
“Cofidis is in la Vuelta so we need some more points here to secure our WT promotion. It starts today with a stage win OK Linus?”
That was sure a hell of a motivation!
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 10'26 | 2 | Alexandr Pliuschin | Leopard - Trek | + 13 | 3 | Jeremy Vennell | Bissell Cycling Team | + 15 |
Stage 2 – Hilly
“Great job yesterday. Today with last hill far from arrival we just need to stick to the front.”
Late attacks on tired field got the best of Butler and Loutit. Gerdmann stays in front though.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Fabio Sabatini | Jamis - Sutter Home | 4h01'17 | 2 | Elia Favilli | Rapha Condor - Sharp | s.t. | 3 | Alexandr Pliuschin | Leopard - Trek | s.t. | 6 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | s.t. |
Stage 3 – Hilly
“Big day today. Linus it is on you.”
The usual strategy works fine again and Gerdemann gets away in the last climb for a solo win.
Rank | Name | Team | Time | 1 | Linus Gerdemann | Dual Temp | 4h53'28 | 2 | Sergio Pardilla Bellon | Movistar Team Ct | + 33 | 3 | Peter McDonald | Genesys Wealth Advisers - Qantas | + 1'23 |
Stage 4 – ITT
“Linus you are 3rd favourite but I am sure you can make it again!”
And he does even putting a nice gap between him and the 2 stage favourites.

Stage 5 – Hilly
“Linus you are the strong man and we have got a strong team, so let’s claim our due today again.”
Same tactic produces same result. Butler takes the KoM and makes the outsider group in a view of a Top 10. Unfortunately Loutit falls and breaks his hand. His season is over. We will have to rely on Alberio alone for the late season hilly races.

Stage 6 – Hilly
“Difficult stage today and we are lacking Alastair, We should control the race at first then let Christopher attacks both for the KoM and avoid the work.”
That is what we have done but the chase behind Butler was restless so most riders starts tiering in the leader group, Gerdemann attacks with 50 kilometres to go. He tries to get Butler in his wheel but he was powered out and will exit the Top 10. Still an easy stage win for Gerdemann.

Stage 7 – Flat
The break makes it to the end as we did not chase.

Points - Linus Gerdemann
Mountain - Christopher Butler
With those new wins we have secured a 2000 pts lead over Cofidis. Enough to ease it for the season end: Giro di Padania will be Gerdemann last race.
Roeslandts will get his chance to (prepare and) ride Circuit Franco-Belge.
Chrono des Nations will be our last race for our ITT specialists.
