The download program simply won't work for me, so it seems I need to download all 5 files and then install them.

how about we get a thread for the impatient, whining and crying infants?
Really looking forward to reading about other pcm´ers first impression of the game. Especially excited about the mountain stageds and the gameplay. The training/season planning for ai. the new recovery which negates atttacking all day every day., |

Mountain stages are great, I already played a few of those AI makes good decisions and peloton gets ripped to pieces when you turn the heat on. Attacks actually work, too.
Recovery during a stage race is pretty good, too, with a combination of freshness, recovery and rhythm! |

My first impression is of terrible customer service, delayed release and general incompetence from both Cyanide and Focus. As a recommendation based up my experiences so far i would say DO NOT BUY FROM FOCUS
And for actual gameplay, the first 8-9pages are full of it

Dude.. please... You're overreacting. First of all, distribution has nothing to do with Cyanide. Second, we're talking about a delay of a few hours. Yes, it could have been better, but it's not the end of the world. |

Indeed, the only thing I wonder about is why, I can't seem to make their download program work.
Now I just have to wait, so I can get to turn it out before I'm gonna dig deep into this weekend.

Which is why i reference Focus as well.
And i payed for preorder because it meant that i would get the game at midnight on release night, and be amongst the first people to get and play the game. It would save me having to go to a store and meant that Daily would get some money.
But i did not get the game when i was told i would. It would have been cheaper to get in a store, including cost of getting to said store. One of the download links in my email does not work. They delayed the release time after the original time had passed. It has been available in many stores for a day, if not 2 days.
Now i can download it, the speed is shit, around 1-3mbs.
The whole thing has been a mess and i have every right to be angry. I have contacted Focus with these concerns and i hope they can offer up a good reply.
I do not mind waiting a few hours. I do mind being lied to, being kept in the dark, people being late, not keeping promises, and not giving explanations for any of the above.

First impressions: The game has been quite entertaining.
I haven't played, installed or even downloaded it and won't bother to for a while, but so far reading the anger of so many people has been very entertaining

You are right on all you're saying, but still a bit overreacting They should deliver the game a few days earlier for those that do a pre-order. EA does this with FIFA. |

If you're talking about setup.exe, that's not a download program.
Also, for the Focus whining: It was at most 5 hours of waiting. A ridiculous and miniscule amout of time in the gaming world.

This thread is about the game and first impressions, not about your personal frustrations. If you want a rant thread, where you can whine about what ever, then feel free to start such a thread. |

No big ones. One or two times I didn't see my squad before the race (giving orders/quick sim), but when I pressed return and came back, they appeared.
Also, once I won an intermediate sprint but didn't receive points.

No I'm talking about that metaboli program, that they use as their downloading program. Can't simply get it to work, it won't start downloading, saying something about 3 failed attempts. So I'm just doing them one by one now.
BTW, was I the only one that thought the game was first to be released tomorrow and not today ?

Westhamfreak: i had the same problem, so i started the download over again and installed it on a different harddisc, then it was no problem at all.
Seemed like I lacked some premissions to install it on the first disc i tried.
They have this great beer here in England, I really love it. Its called Pint.
