Busseto (Roncole Verdi) - Cherasco
The longest stage of this edition of the Giro witj a length of over 240 km. The course is mainly flat, but with a few bumps in the end, the real sprinters might not be able to survive. A break shouldnt be ruled out either after yesterday, but it seems the pack has learnt its lesson.
****John Degenkolb
***Mark Cavendish, Giacomo Nizzolo
**Andre Greipel, Matthew Goss, Roberto Ferrari

Just 2 bets
Busseto (Roncole Verdi) - Cherasco
Well, the longest stage of the Giro today, but not the most difficult one. Lets see what comes out. We join you with 80 kms to go.
We have a break of 7 riders ahead: Giampaolo Caruso (Katusha), Anthony Roux (FDJ), Rinaldo Nocentini (AG2R), Matteo Pelucchi (IAM), Ion Izagirre (Euskaltel) and Filippo Fortin (Bardiani Valvole). Their lead has been 8min13, but is now just 5min09.
The pack is lead by Omega Pharma, Orica and Lotto.
Earlier on there has been no battle at sprint 1: 1 Pelucchi, 2 Izagirre.
No battle at sprint 2 either, where Nocentini is first and Caruso 2nd.
There is a battle for the mountain points though. Caruso is first and Felline 2nd. The lead, with 50 kms left, is still 3min19.
On the next hill, uncategorized, Guardini is dropped and he fails to come back in the downhill.
With 20kms to go, Fortin and Pelucchi have been dropped from the break, which still has a lead of 1min39.
The break was doomed today, and Nocentini is the last to be reeled in with 5kms left.
Weening is the leadout for Goss, with all the other survivors in his wheel.
The winner of the sprint is
John Degenkolb. He easily beats Kristoff and Bennati. 4 and 5 are Ferrari and Goss. No changes in the GC, but Degenkolb retains the red jersey.

Funny enough, Bozic and Tiralongo had been waiting for Guardini, and with 3kms left, Tiralongo and Bozic lead him out for a perfect sprint. Problem was they were about 10 minutes behind the pack

Another real mountain stage, with a mountain top finish again. Today we first climb to Sestrières, but this climb shouldnt form a problem. The climb to the top of the Monte Jafferau should, with an average of 11%. The climbers should win today.

Just awake, so there are probably some mistakes (2 stages ago, I even constantly reported about the wrong Izagirre, can you imagine)
Cervere - Bardonecchia (Monte Jafferau)
Another important day for the GC, with a very difficult climb in the end. The winner will probably be a GC-rider or a breakaway. We join you with 95kms left, just before the first intermediate sprint. A break of 7 riders has a lead of almost 2 minutes: Bonnafond (AG2R), Cancellara (Radioshack), Sella (Androni), Westra (Vacansoleil), Astarloza (Euskaltel), Roelandts (Lotto) and Tschopp (IAM).
The pack is lead by Sky.
No battle at sprint 1, Bonnafond is 1st, Cancellara 2nd.
At the beginning of the climb, the lead has grown to over 5 minutes.
6 riders have decided to leave the pack behind: Menchov, Moreno, Garzelli, Santambrogio, Brajkovic and Van Garderen.
On a flat section, Scarponi punctures. Bad luck for him again. He regains contact easily however.
On the top, Tschopp beats Westra and Astarloza. The gap with the 2nd group is 2min50 and with the pack its 6min22.
3 more riders break from the pack: Rujano, Gesink and Basso.
They are reeled in in the downhill though.
No battle at sprint 2 either: Cancellara 1, Bonnafond 2n. The laed to the 2nd group, with 16,8kms left is 2min48, to the pack it is 5min16.
At the foot ofd the Monte Jafferau, Westra has already let his companions behind. Astarloza is 20 seconds behind, the rest of the early break more than a minute, group-Menchov is 3min02 behind, the pack 4min44.
12 riders have broeken away from the pack. The entire top 10 is there, except Pozzovivo and Scarponi.
With 3kms left, Westra is still ahead. The other groups approach quickly however.
Under the red flag, still Westra ahead, followed by Sella, Tschopp and Bonnafond.
At the line
Westra has held on. Tschopp 2nd. The top 3 of the GC got a gap in the sprint, Froome comes 3rd, Hesjedal 4th and Contador 5th. Tschopp will get the blue jersey and Basso kicks Rujano out of the top10. De Gendt also loses a bit of time and Blanco holds on in the team ranking, but loses a lot to Vacansoleil today.

Well, Astana isn't really achieving the results I expected...
Also, I bet you were cheering for Westra during the last kilometers, weren't you Selwink?

Well, I was relieved when he managed to hold on, but it was a really pleasant surprise for me. I had thought the break wouldnt make it. Nibali has luckily for you managed to keep up with most of the favorites

Goals:
- Get into the top 25 of the GC (TSCHOPP 36TH ATM)
- Get at least 1 top 10 finish in any stage (DONE)
- Get into the top 10 of the KoM classification (TSCHOPP IN THE LEAD ATM)
- Get into the top 15 of the Team classification (21ST ATM)
So this is going better than I thought!
