On this day czech riders have best ranking since 2004 (i didn't find older rankings) - sum of their positions is 14. It's quite symbolic, because today is 90th anniversary of founding independent Czechoslovakia.
Just to be arrogant, duth have sum of 48. Ruben, tell them to make results, this is really horrible. |

Just a little comparement between quality of Czech an American races: Joachim Parbo, who often finishes inside top 10 in American races finished in czech race GP CEZ Group Podborany on 14th place. The legendary Adam Myerson, who also finishes in USA on 7-10th places got 4 laps. |

USA cyclocross sucks. Guys like Trebon who win regularly there are NOWHERE in belgian crosses, hell, they can't even win against riders like Al and De Knegt |

That's your weird conclusion then. Tell me where... because I can't see where in my post my tone indicated that Thijs Al sucked.
Seriously, I can't stand people wrongly interpreting posts and making an opinion of that.

Okay, I love Road Cycling, initially I hated Track Cycling, but now I love it. Now I'm in the same place with Cyclocross, and I want to know some more about some of the top riders. Now I know about Nys and Boom, but can some people give me a run down of some of the other top riders and their strengths. |

Zdenek Stybar: Excellent technique, good acceleration, high speed and good sprinting skills are his main weapons. His favourite courses are dry and icy ones. Often winning early and late crosses. You can recegnize him simply because of his czech chamion skinsuit. Current world's no. 3.
Martin Bína: Former world chamion. His arsenal: Brilliant technique, combativiness and strong legs. He can use every inch of the course. There is no better rider on snow and ice than him. His skinsuit is red with white sign Budweiser Budvar and he has world chamions bands on his arms. Current world's no. 5 and also leader of czech cup Toi Toi cup.
Radomír Simůnek jr.: Son of world chamion has good technique, determination and very good sprinting skills. He has no favourised courses, but he has lack of health and very unsteady shape. Riding in blue skinsuit of Palmans-Cras and current world's no. 6.
Petr Dlask: 197 cm high giant, you can't overlook him. Best czech on mud and sand. He doesn't like dry courses. Often injured and still waiting to get back in world top. In 2005/06 he was no. 5 now he is 10th. Riding for fidea.
The other ones are Zlámalík, Ausbuher and Kulhavý. Zlámalík has lack of health and morale (*cough* doping *cough*). Ausbuher is getting older and older and Kulhavý is first of all MTB rider.
Now is Ruben's turn.

well the short review
Nys : to be short the best. good at everything. superb technique. the only downsides: weaker at high tempo races ( example tabor) and he's getting old
Welles: used to be Nys his big rival. a figther though mostly makes a bad start that kills the chance he could win. Strong in very muddy terrain
Albert: a fighter. is the closest to Nys of all the belgians. Is a youngster. never gives up ( see tabor) a real contestant for nys.
Aernouts: A youngster . as had some promising results last year. though still to young to be a winner
Vervecken: the old veteran. due to his age he will never be again among the best
Pauwels: a shy youngster. a follower. seldonly attacks
D. Vanthourenhout: the cousin of sven. a promising you cyclocrosser
S. Vanthourenhout: used to be a real talent . but after 2 bad season people have lost faith in him. he's currently recovering from an injure to his hand
K. Vantorhout: A good cyclocrosser who has still margin to grow. though he is still hasn't got the level of a Nys/ albert
a short resume...

I'm expecting Petr Dlask for top 5. And Bína for first time in Belgium. His average place is 3,5, but I don't expect much from him on muddy courses. |

There is no way that i see Bina perform well on his first race in belgium.
and dlask, there is a big difference between tsjech racing and belgium racing
tjsech : ice and dry
belgium : muddty and sometimes wet.
its a whole other world of racing. you have seen it last year. ive only seen him perform once at toplevel ( meaning top 5) in belgium

You should pay a visit in as you say Tsjechië, today's been all the day raining, and tuesday's cyclocross in Podborany was very muddy ( here you can see the pictures: https://www.cyklokros.cz/_new/cz/index...uality/232 ). And Dlask had another perfect day beating Bína, Ausbuher and Šimůnek. But so far there was only one muddy cx and that was the one in Podborany. But I'm looking forward to Mnichovo Hradiste and Hole Vrchy, there should be mud and snow - there is no better cx than this. |

I love muddy crosses, too bad most of the crosses nowadays are on hard surface or sand and with many corners... high-speed. "new cross" they call it, i hate it. |

Its the weather really. In britain we always have muddy crosses. Some rounds have know to have been deliberately wet because there is no rain. If the UK trophy can do that why cant the UCI Cup? |
