Yours truly got a C- on a short story in Story Making class.
Explanation: The old man didn't really like it/it didn't make sense to him.
I had everyone in my family read it at least once and they know I'm decent at writing otherwise they wouldn't have allowed me to pursue a journalism major. In fact my dad even read and enjoyed the 1st season of The Comeback even though he doesn't understand cycling at all.
So, in a nutshell, this is how universities are screwing over talented individuals.
An awful professor that only cares about money in his pocket and don't give a damn about anything else. I pay too much money to get told I suck as a writer when I have proof that I don't. Jeez, just because I pick a subject matter you don't want to read about doesn't give you the right to basically fail me. Because by the end of the semester I need at least a C to get my credits (and I need even better than that to keep the scholarship money I'm receiving). *Rant Over.
I'm thinking I might drop the class if this professor continues to hate my "award winning" writing my style. What a prick. I'm so angry right now...
Case and point. I just won the correspondent of the week on the website I write for the Red Wings as a resume builder, hopefully internship next semester. Go figure.
That just sucks (first part of course, congrats on that Correspondent of the Week thing ). Had a few teachers myself that gave a shit about encouraging talented students (not necessarily myself), although rather in the scientific subjects. One of the most frustrating feelings to know you can do something but you're held back. Especially when you know it could be otherwise (I had the best Maths teacher you can imagine in my last two years, for instance). I just hope it doesn't pull you down too much!

see 547984, it's case and point, not stupid case in point

I hope that proof isn't winning a PCMdaily award because that doesn't mean anything outside of the internet

It's "Case in point" people
Also that's why subjective majors should not really exist. For something that carries such weight in life, as well a significant financial cost, you can't have it decided on personal like/interpretation. Either right or wrong is all there should be

Well if PCM.Daily isn't proof then right above it in the that first quote is.
Also The Comeback was a key factor in me getting that job, so don't say PCM.Daily can't influence the outside world because it actually can.

So, I've had reports back from all of my teachers saying I'm wasting my natural talent, not applying myself, etc. Then I get As on all my tests and they still moan. I think I must have to save someone's life or something to get praise.

I love seeing this thread. Reminds me of the fact that I'm done with school/university/etc. etc. forever

This is my 2nd year in high school (School starts in February, no middle school) and I've been extremely lucky with teachers. My maths teacher last year was the best and actually made by far my worst subject into one of my best. He always used to pick on me, but as a joke. Couple of examples:
I say "Well, we're the C class, we're smarter than the others"
He makes circles around my with he arms and says "Exclusion zone"
Another time this kid through a sharp pencil at my neck so I say "Sir, Jason threw a pencil at my neck"
He says "Good job Jason"
I guess this was pretty much because I'm always the class clown, so am prone to that sort of thing. Also, this Jason kid is the meanest, nastiest person you'll ever hear of (about par with Kim Jong Un). His rowing coach's mum died and the guy laughed at him.
