@ andy222c: I fear that the big differences will be made in the time trial, but if stage 5 will be selective, then yes, Dominik might have a good chance.
@ Omt78: First of all thanks a lot for the nice words I don't create any bikes, the new teams use generic ones, I only edit the correct colour. As for the jerseys, I've only created one for my story (TV3), but since I'm really no good of a designer, I get them from others. Some, like Ferrari (kudos to fcancellara for that) I found in the shirt database, T-Mobile is from another forum, some others are requests I made (Nokia from laidbackmarc for instance).
I just played the second stage, very exciting one. Not sure when I'll be able to do the report, maybe you'll have to wait until monday, but it'll be worth it

Okay, folks, don't get your hopes up too high It was an exciting stage, not an extraordinarily brilliant one Maybe my benchmark for a good stage went down a bit after the last two races ^^
As I said, report's probably coming tomorrow.

Tour de Romandie - Stage 2
The second stage is already quite challenging with lots of ups and downs but a longer flat part in the middle and a descent towards the finish. Breakaways or bigger groups seem likely to succeed, a single rider will have a tough time to get away today.
This really isn't my terrain, these lots of small climbs with short descents. Therefore, my sole ambition for today is to stay within the front group and not lose any time. The same probably applies for Janez Brajkovic. We have two other goals as a team for today. Firstly, we want someone in the break, because the profile seems to fit for a group of escapees to take a surprising win. Matthew Busche would fit. Secondly, the finish looks like a good opportunity for Mauro Finetto. He shouldn't have much probelms with the hills and is one of the fastest sprinters around, so we'll ride for him in a possible sprint finish.
3 | The first riders try to escape from the peloton that is currently controlled by UniCredit. | 167 | . | 18 | A strong three men break with Matthew Busche, Kevin Seeldraeyers (Quick·Step) and Swiss Champion Johan Tschopp (BMC) are a minute in front, but more attacks keep coming. | 152 | . | | | 41 | Francesco Masciarelli (Lampre) and Tom Danielson (Garmin) made it to the break, that 3'45 in front of the peloton. Midway inbetween them is Leonardo Duque (Cofidis), who fights to bridge the gap. | 129 | . | 47 | Matthew Busche wins the first mountain sprint, relatively uncontested. The advance rose to 5 minutes. | 123 | . | 57 | At the first intermediate sprint, won by Tschopp, Duque joins the initial break. They are six men now. | 113 | . | | | 77 | Only Duque challenges Busche for the mountain points but the American prevails. | 93 | . | 98 | The advance peaked at six minutes but decreased rapidly in the last kilometers. It's down to four minutes now. | 72 | . | | | 129 | The breakaway is almost caught as the peloton enters the longest and steepest climb of the day. Vasil Kiriyenka (Movistar) opens with a strong acceleration, followed by Thomas Dekker (Rabobank), Pierre Rolland (Saur) and others. | 41 | . | 139 | They catch the original break – from which Busche dropped back into the pack – on the descent. 1'30 on the pack. | 31 | . | | | 146 | Following Juan Jose Cobo (Katusha) and Kim Kirchen (T-Mobile), Janez Brajkovic attacks! | 24 | . | | | 149 | Nerz sits, protected by Matthew Busche, in the front part of the pack, while numerous riders attack. Brajkovic wasn't very successful but is almost back again, the leaders around Rolland and Kiriyenka are 1'20 in front. | 21 | . | | | 159 | On the last very small ascent, Igor Antón (Vodafone) and Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin) attack. Argos does the pace and Dominik Nerz helps in the relay. | 11 | . | | | 161 | Close to the descent, a split occurs! Brajkovic and overall leader Martin are left out while Nerz is in the front group of 19 riders, 30 seconds in front. The break has been caught in the meantime. | 9 | . | | | 167 | Into the final three kilometers, Dominik Nerz is in a good position. The group has an advance of one minute and will come through. Kim Kirchen opens the sprint! | 3 | . | | | 170 | And Kirchen holds on to it! Amazing sprint by the Luxembourger, second stage win in a row for T-Mobile! Dominik Nerz finishes on a great 10th spot, takes over the young riders jersey and makes a big leap in the GC. | 0 |

Wow, what a day. Extremely hectic, lots of attacks, especially in the last 25 kms. The final split caught us completely off-guarded and it was pure luck that I was able to stay in front. This leaves me in a great position now. I'm 12th overall and with almost 40 seconds to Janez, I'm our new leader for the moment. And from the group of today, only three riders (Rujano, Antón and Schleck) are much better climbers. It'll be interesting to see what I can do in the time trial, but I should be in the race for at least a Top 10 overall now. I'm very excited!
Tomorrow will be less exhausting and probably less spectacular. I'll be proud to wear the white jersey. Let's see what happens.

Too bad for Brajkovic, but what a great day for Dominik. He's really turning into a true leader!
And I must congratulate you again on your extremely fine reports. What a quality, it's impressive. Lay-out is fantastic, writing is good, pictures are great! I applaud you |

Guys ... I have bad news for you. I've had some serious issues with my notebook. Windows had to be reinstalled and not even a professional was able to save my data. That means: The savegame is gone! Therefore, the story will come to a halt. I'm not ruling out that one day I'll find the motivation to edit it all over again, but it won't be soon, probably. I'm pretty sad about this, but that's how it is at the moment ...
What I can say, though, is that I'm still very much into story writing and I'm already having ideas for a new one. We'll see how that'll work out.
Lastly, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has supported this story over the past years (yes, it's really been years now), and of course all of those who have read it without commenting. Thanks a lot!

This story has been going since I joined the site. It's been the best one rider story ever in my opinion.
Hope you come back with something even better (if that's possible!).
