You are dead right - Maxvir, get it? Dead right. I guess he just reincarnated as a scout.
That's correct Ian - Mistrzostwa Polski was next on my calendar and for the first time I didn't win it. Probably due to lack of Polish riders in my team (5) and the fact that few of my breakaways were chased this year. Finally managed to run away with Kiendys and Olszewski, but it's not the same Kiendys that won it 3 times in a row - he's 39 now, with FL 65 and SP 71. Maybe I should have another rider in the breakaway just to protect him, like in past years. Anyway from a 4-rider breakaway my riders took last 2 places. Jacek Morajko became Road Race Champion 2016 and my former puncheur - Marek Rutkiewicz got silver.
Did much better in ITT. Designated only 3 riders (Bodnar, Kwiatkowski and Olszewski) and they were 2 sec away from taking first 3 places. Kwiatkowski won it as every year - 39 sec ahead of Bodnar. Olszewski came 4th with 1:03 loss. He probably won't be another Kwiatkowski, but with TT 73 and still 2 stars of potential, he will be definitely top 3 (unless I find someone more talented).
Getting ready for another win - Michal Kwiatkowski in Mistrzostwa Polski.
Now getting ready for big spending.

Internationale Osterreich Rundfahrt was my last race before Tour de Pologne. With no climbers and decent puncheurs I couldn't do much. However I was still able to win 3 stages there. On first one I even managed to get a triple win when Castroviejo attacked on the last hill, followed by Ciolek and Nunez.
Triple win in Austria.
Nunez & Ciolek did pretty well on flat and even few hilly stages, youngster Rozada won the mountain jersey for a team, but I still don't have any riders that I could win mountain stages with... I guess it will change next season, as I just signed in Igor Anton.
Funny enough, he will be getting more, than my whole team last year - €55.500. Also in talks with Tejay van Garderen and Peter Kennaugh and due to wages bug that will be it when it comes to my transfers, if I actually can affort them cuz it's just about. Plus gonna take few youngsters afterwards, as they are not affected by the wages bug (already scouting 2 future great Poles).
Well Mico I really wanted to get Tejay van Garderen but his wages demands were just tiny bit above my budget (due to wages bug of course), so I had to go for Anton, Pozzovivo and Kennaugh, as getting some decent climbers for next season in Wolrd Tour was my main priority.
Domenico Pozzovivo - 1-year deal - €25.000.
Peter Kennaugh - 2-year deal - €16.000.
I was also thinking seriously about getting Taylor Phinney, but again - I really needed some climbers for forthcoming season.
Next year I finally won't be limited with wages bug, so definitely gonna get few Americans, as my contract with Coca-Cola is 2-year long, so hopefully I will be able to make them happy and maybe renew... if they have nice shirts of course.
For now, the only American that I managed to sign was Chris Barton.
So I'm affraid they have to be happy with that and the fact that my doctor is American.
Now - racing. Tour de Pologne went pretty good for me (even great untill stage 6). Nunez did outstanding job winning all 4 flat and even 1 hilly stage and was 1st in GC with 2 days to go.
Juan Jacob Nunez led by Gerald Ciolek wins stage 4 of Tour de Pologne.
Unfortunately hills of Bukowina Tatrzanska were too much for him and he dropped to 9th place losing his yellow jersey but he managed to win a sprinter yersey (just by 1 point).
Did pretty good on mountains again. Due to various terrain and numerous of mountain premiums I was fighting for it alternately with McArther and Castroviejo. They grabbed first 2 places but for the moment I thought it might go to Pozzovivo, who won 7 premiums on stage 6.
Juan Jacob Nunez and Gerald Ciolek didn't give any chances to the opposition in German Sparkassen Giro (1.1) grabbing a double win.
As it's already 1st of August, and few of the youngsters joined my team.
Can't really see future stars (or even future great potential, what my scouts claimed) among them. However, decideded to train Wieczorek and Giner to see what they become. Rest will be probably released next season, just like Besic.

Again had 2 races at the same time, so I had to reactivate my first group. Of course, after such a lethargy they weren't in top form. I decided to designate them to shorter (7 stage long) USA Pro Cycling Challenge, while others took part in Volta a Portugal (11 stages).
Despite poor fitness my first group did pretty well. Castroviejo came 10th in general, Rozada maintained tradition and brought team the KoM jersey, Aliu came 3rd in youngsters ranking, and my team was also classified 3rd.
Ricky McArther poses for the picture.
USA Pro Cycling Challenge (2.HC)
Overall: 10th Castroviejo
Points: 15th Demare
Mountain: 1st Rozada
Young: 3rd Aliu
Team: 3rd
While my first group did pretty good in States, my other group was doing even better in Portugal. Nunez (who is already SP 84, ACC 82) won all 4 flat stages, with Ciolek just behind his back most of the time.
One of the double wins in Portugal.
Other time it was very close to lose it, like on this stage 6 finish.
Ben King did very well on both time trial sessions, becoming 3rd in prologue and 1st in a 25-km long, just 38 sec ahead of Navardauskas.
King of the time trial - Ben King during the Portuguese time trial session.
McArther dominated the KoM battle, also becoming best young rider of the tour, and again the only aspect that I was lacking was general classification, with Monslave just 9th in it. But that's gonna change from next season.
Volta a Portugal (2.1)
Overall: 9th Monslave
Points: 1st Nunez, 4th Ciolek
Mountain: 1st McArther
Young: 1st McArther
Team: 4th
At the moment my sponsors are quite upset that I'm 1st in Continental ranking with 3.310 points and 1860 points lead.

He certainly is Sutty and he just proved it in Britain winning all the flat stages apart from 1 (which was won by Ciolek). But it was great effort by his lead out too, who took 2nd place in all stages won by Nunez. Nunez in return came 2nd in Ciolek's winning race.
It started very well for me, as on 2nd stage my train shot up from the peloton so powerfully that they managed to get clear and my Nunez & Ciolek duet got 44 seconds lead, that was successively increasing with next won stages.
My only fear of losing the yellow jersey was the sole hilly stage. Nunez and this stage was 2 min ahead of the others. There was a successful breakaway won by a rider who was 2:20 behind Nunez, but my best sprinter countered attack on last hill and he managed to come 10th with only 28 sec loss keeping his back yellow.
New king of England - Juan Jacob Nunez winning last stage of Tour of Britain.
To yellow and green jersey McArther added a red dotted one and my only insufficiency was that I lost best team battle just by 1 sec.
Tour of Britain (2.1)
Overall: 1st Nunez
Points: 1st Nunez, 2nd Ciolek
Mountain: 1st McArther
Young: 5th Cardo
Team: 2nd
