brilliant ride by hushovd to hold onto yellow...everyone seemed to say it was going on cadels shoulders...who by the way i thought did so well to take stage especially holding of contador...hushovd was all out at the end but thats what being in yellow is all about..going to the death

So... Was that this Tour for Gilbert? Or are there any stages left for him, or will he chase the green or what will he do?

I'm so happy that Andy has around 1:30 over Contador!!!
Will make the race a lot more exiting this year. |

so, finally, Contador showed something ...
Let's see if he'll be able to respond this way in the mountains ...
Could be really great, given that Andy wasn't in front today

really?
Stage 8 looks a bit tough for him doesn't it? And stage 9 would mean he would have to be in the break, or is that too tough for the sprinters?

I don't think Super Besse is too tough for him, but he'd have to show better legs than today. Stage 9 is definitely good for him, with the last km @8% aprox.

Alright... I'm having a team on a danish website where I need to pick riders - And I can't change before the end of stage 9. So I'm wondering if Gilbert would still give me good points. It's primarily on stages.
You might want to help out? These are the riders I can pick.
I need to pick 2 from these:
Cadel Evans 9.027.500
Alexandre Vinokourov 7.309.000
Samuel Sanchez 9.144.000
Jurgen van den Broeck 6.337.500
Alberto Contador 12.391.500
3 from these:
Mark Cavendish 12.238.500
Jose Joaquin Rojas 7.616.500
Thor Hushovd 8.894.000
Tyler Farrar 10.637.500
Romain Feillu 6.376.500
Alessandro Petacchi 11.019.500
Edvald Boasson Hagen 7.162.000
3 from these
Sylvain Chavanel 8.028.000
Andreas Klöden 6.408.000
Rigoberto Uran 6.408.000
Sandy Casar 7.026.000
Fränk Schleck 9.416.000
Ryder Hesjedal 8.240.000
Rein Taaramae 6.196.000
Robert Gesink 10.062.000
And 5 from these:
Philippe Gilbert 11.172.500
Jimmy Engoulvent 6.212.500
Geraint Thomas 7.557.500
Julian Dean 5.520.000
Mark Renshaw 7.072.500
Chris Horner 7.287.500
Thomas Voeckler 8.102.500
Jerome Pineau 6.035.000
Jurgen Roelandts 6.065.000
Gert Steegmans 6.045.000
Danilo Hondo 6.027.500
Fabio Sabatini 5.032.500
Mickael Delage 4.092.500
Jeremy Roy 3.120.000
Bjorn Leukemans 3.032.500
Anthony Charteau 4.032.500
Vasili Kiryienka 7.025.000
Yohann Gene 3.027.500
Linus Gerdemann 5.322.500
Who would you pick - If the money was free to use. Remember it's the best rider for stage 5-9... GC isn't worth very much...

Contador, Evans, Cavendish, Farrar, Rojas, Urán, Chavanel, Klöden, Gilbert, Voeckler, Kiryienka, Thomas and Pineau would be my* pick.
* I suck at prediction games

Thats the exact team I just highlighted. Until I realised you picked the exact team I did.
But I also suck at prediction games.

Alright... I'm not sure about Kiryienka just yet. Isn't he one for the mountains?
Also remember that Chavanel, Voeckler and Pineau needs to hit the right attack in order to win points. They won't gain anything from being in attack all day only to be caught and then the sprinters takes over.
A rider like Julian Dean has been one of the best so far in the game.

I wonder if Evans can contest green jersey competition
I wondered the same thing but i think mountain finish don't give points.
But nice win by Evans , and Contador just need two real km of steep to gain time , i think he is going to blast everyone again on the mountain stages |

Gesink as always sucking on explosive finishes... will he ever learn how to do that?
Anyway, he was with the usual suspects who also never do well there, so not that bad.
He's really Basso or Sastre v2.0. agonizing to see.
More suprisingly Andy in that 2nd group.. for a winner of LBL suprising, he can handle short hills normally.
Andy peak plan didn't work this year?? |

just wait for Schleck and Contador ...
Long and hard climbs are still to come.
Btw, I didn't know AC could sprint ...
