I agree. But wasn`t it also like this before the patch?
Just played a hilly stage and the 4 favourites attacked. I counterattacked with a full red and yellow but had no chance to get out of the peloton although I was on the first positions. ;(

Any news as to when the patch will become official, and does anyone know what they are tweaking/working on with it for the moment?

Not as I remember, I played a whole season with liquigas without encountering the problem.

I hope cyanide will make the attack button more powerfull in the final patch,

I think one of the problems might be that there is some sort of hidden bonus to pulling the peleton.

I've had in shape 80MO riders brought back guys with mid 70'sMO in the peleton on the last climbs many times before. There must be a bonus... otherwise i just can't see how medium climbers can bring back a superclimber. So if the favorites attack, and the peleton ups the speed. Your climbers efforts will be nullified because the peleton is working, even tho the rider doing the work may be much weaker than yours.

Alltho' it has to be said, that this does not always happen. And that attacking from a charging peleton is always gonna be a bad idea - no matter who you are =)

I've been purposely steering clear of this thread until now so my apologies if this has already been pointed out.....

....but has anyone noticed the Red bar of one of their riders (usually a breakaway rider) get emptied in less than a second (from full to empty). I have been noticing this, and find it to be very annoying as I like to play as smaller teams and breakaways are the best way to get victories. If anyone has a video of this that would be even better, but I just can't see myself ever winning a breakaway victory if it stays the way it currently is.

I don't have PCM10, I play PCM09 so apologies if this is a bit off topic. But in PCM09 i've found that once a rider has attacked a number of times, he eventually gets to a stage where if he tries any more attacks then his red bar drains quickly.

I read somewhere that this is where the Fighter stat has an influence. The higher the fighter stat, the more attacks a rider can make whilst not losing too much of his red bar.

Not sure how relevent this is to PCM10 though...

That could well be it. As I beleive that function wasn't in 08, my switching from 08 to 10 would make me beleive its a bug when its rather an implemented feature.

I have especially when im braking on a mountain so now I use my second best climber protecting my best climber and pull away the attack a few km's from the top, e.g. Giro D'Italia, I never won the Giro with Basso finished 57secs behind Contador, on Monte Grappa, I rode behind Nibali with effort on 85% then attacked with 2km to go to the top, then i used Nibali's descending skill to help Basso pull nearly 3mins out on all GC contenders, so now I use that strategy to help me pull away now.

since the beta patch, the descending skill seems useless.

Attacking in pcm 2010 seems pretty useless at the ends of the stages. Usually, your rider will not even make it out of the peloton. Ironically, after i have attacked, the comp riders will then attack and they will manage a small gap although then i get my revenge by using my guys to pull them back into the peloton. Something is not quite right with attacks, its better to conserve that red bar, and throw a sacrificial lamb in front of your rider, put him on 85 dot and watch him ride away in the hills/mountains. He will get farther away that way than attacking which is a bit sad.
