Uhm, Carlos was a bit unclear, and the journalist asked as a joke: Did you say he is one of the best climbers?

Would you have said that before Thor came onto the scene? I doubt it.
I've always seen green as a sprinters jersey, I know it's points, but for me it is the sprinters prize.

I heard Carlos perfectly fine, and it was embarrasing even if it was meant as a joke. |

A disgrace to the Green.
A disgrace to the green? Here is a guy killing him self in the mountains to win the green. He takes every opportunity to get points for the points jersey and he's a disgrace?

Contador says on twitter that he and Andy has been talking today during the stage and that there is no hard feelings between them. |

Cyclingnews
H: Can you also tell those members of the public who have been jeering Alberto that they should stop because once again today there was a scene that was disrespectful of all those who love cycling…
AS: Yes, er…
GH: Can you say it directly into that camera?
AS (looking directly into the camera): Everyone stop that! Do it for me.
GH: That’s good to hear because I think it is right to respect the yellow jersey and also to respect great champions.
AC: I just want to say many, many thanks for that my friend.

He needs too now. He won't gain 8 seconds on Contador in TT. Also, he probably would like a bigger gap between him and Sanchez/Menchov before the TT. |

Before you start making random put downs Waghlon, perhaps read the gist of what Ruben was replying to?
Whilst I disagree that Hushovd is a disgrace to the green jersey, Ruben does, however, make a valid point that you can't really call Hushovd a "complete sprinter". A complete sprinter would be someone who would challenge for intermediate sprints on flat stages and hilly stages, and go for the placings on flat stages. Sure, Hushovd does do that, but he has to rely on his ability to climb [better than pure sprinters] and his panache to claim the minor points on stages like today.

True, but how many times have those intermediate sprints actually been contested by the actual sprinters so far in this Tour?
PS: Not a random putdown either

Once so far. And once more by both teams' domestiques.
Because normally a break has gone by then.

So is it even possible for the "complete" sprinter to contest them?
Try to see where im going with my line of thought here...

Would be a shame if he won the green and then got caught 1-2 months later. Hushovd deserves to win the point jersey.
If Petacchi wins the jersey, it's just as much deserved as Hushovd if Hushovd wins. Petacchi has shown that he is a great sprinter and gained lots of points in the pure sprints. If that's enough to win the jersey, well done to him.
That's at least what I think.
Did I mention..that you won already long ago..most objective Norway based forum member award.
Thanks, even though I'm not sure it says very much
Anyway, it is a great battle for the green jersey, and it will most likely continue to the final end at Champs Elysees. That's great |

Yes, it is possible, but as that random Norwegian said, it's a points jersey, not a sprinters jersey.
We're just arguing over your put down of Ruben for saying that Thor is NOT a complete sprinter.
Plus, Cav won one last year in his challenge for the points jersey. And many other sprinters have fought for them in seasons past.

Yup, if he has a strong enough team, and needs points, then he just doesn't let a break get away.
