Katushas plan all along I supect. Rodriguez is best on the steep climbs, so Ivanov and Kolobnev try before Huy, but if it comes to a Huy sprint, Rodriguez is there

Not a fan of Evans, but rather him than the two before-mentioned.
Anton didn't start too early, the only place he could win was on the steep part where Contador almost lost his wheel at one point, it was an all or nothing attack from him. He did the only thing he could have done.
All he did was to lead out Contador. What's the fun in that? |

Quite. What screwed it up was that RodrÃguez was horribly positioned at the start. Seemed to me like he was the fastest up the climb

Great Evans! It's nice to see the rainbow jersey doing such a good climb in Huy. His timing was perfect, and Anton and Contador were pretty fried when he catched them up. |

No fun, crime is not fun and it doesn't pay.

I don't think Katusha did it bad. Kolobnev and Ivanov didn't have a chance at the Mur, so they attacked when they could. Perhaps RodrÃguez could have done it better, but a 2nd place is not bad at all.

I said ALMOST screwed it up.

I totally agree with isso. Had Rodriguez been better positioned, I'm sure he would have won it. Great win by Evans, anyway. And he's still on his own LOL! |

I never thought I'll catch that day when Cadel will beat Contador and all those spanish rivals. That really greased up my soul. Nice finish for Phil (6th) and I think he's the new leader in the UCI World Rankings.

And Contador blew himself up trying to follow him, yes ofcourse a brilliant and planned lead-out Anton did there, he had no intentions of trying to win this race. And while we are at it, Contador ofcourse promised to join Euskaltel next season if they did a lead-out for him.

Rodriguez was in the first 10/15 spots. I remember because when the Acqua & Sapone dude attacked i saw him at the front.

Well done to Cadel... he finally timed his attack on the Mur de Huy to perfection :D
Well done to Anton too, good to see him have a go.
Best i've seen Gilbert go up the Mur... Liege should be an interesting race... i guess Valverde will be better there, and Gilbert went up the Mur de Huy better than i've ever seen him go up there before... The Schlecks aren't doing aswell as i thought... but i suppose they haven't had the best of builds up to the season... Nibali and Kreuzinger looked quite good too.... Nibali went too soon an completely blew up :D
Roll on Sunday :P

So ...
Haven't seen the race yet, so i'm looking forward to it. Anyways, well deserved if you saw him riding in Amstel!

He rode for Kroon in the Amstel becase he offered to do so himself. Stop coming back on that.
You keep forgetting it's Evans himself who wanted to do so. When you say BMC or Kroon fuck up, then you are basically saying Evans fucked up, he was the one who came up with that. So let it rest, PLEASE |

I am well aware of that, and that's why i'm even happier for Evans. It's about the point that Evans is capable of being a hill leader instead about the discussion of the Amstel ...
