I did the math. He's going to be 0th?
Nah, he will be 5th
Touché.

Did you account for Breschel being Breschel?

You can't do a cubic neither an exponential approximation if you have just 2 initial values (20 and 10). Just being picky.

I have 4:
2005 - 58
2006 - DNS
2007 - 14
2008 - 20
2009 - 10
That should give a reasonable idea of career progression.
EDIT: and I am not sure how to account for Breschel being Breschel, does that require me to add of subtract places?
If however you can give me a Breschel rating based on how Breschel-like he was in each of 2005-9 with 1 Breschel being his rating this year, then I am sure that can be taken into account.

My bad. I was just thinking about his 20th and 10th quote.
EDIT: The Breschel being Breschel was a Waghlon thing. Ask him. I'm pretty sure there is a logical, scientific and analytic reason behind that, which only he can understand.

Ildaboth, did you just mention Waghlon and logic in the same sentence?

The Breschel being Breschel theory: At some point Breschel will make a mistake that will affect himself, and only himself in some really weird way:
Positive examples:
Breschel forgetting he's Breschel and finishing 3rd in the WC by forgetting he was supposed to suck.
Him winning the danish championship by realizing that he's not Frank Höj and remembering he's supposed not to suck.
Negative Examples:
Anything he's ever said to the press because he remembered he's the biggest danish talent since Riis himself.
Every single time he's somehow thought he was going to win and promptly acheived not that by Breschelling into a ditch or into a puncture.
Conclusion: Man's unpredictable

According to CN, Hincapie and Ballan finished both 2nd in 2006, with Cancellara and Flecha repeating the feat in 2007. |

Yeah, using Cyclingnews' results on their new website is useless. You can, however, still use the old site. |

not to show nationalism but what about millar
I like Millar as well. I wonder if his form will hold for P-R. One down side is that he has only been in the race once before |

GW and Scheldeprijs have nothing to do with cobbles.
And in the Tour of Flanders Farrar returned when the tempo completely dropped up front and could win the sprint for 5th place, which really doesn't say anything.

From CyclingNews.com (and we all know that they have never been wrong)
"First, though, is Paris Roubaix - only Millar's second start in the Queen of the Classics. A reconnaissance of the final 90km on Thursday left him "terrified," but he is looking forward to his first proper shot at the pave. "It scared the shit out of me," said Millar. "Arenberg blew me away, and there were times I thought: oh god, what have I signed up for?" |

It's not his fault that the tempo dropped. I don't think that he will win. Top 20 would be an amazing ride. I just would love to see him as leader based upon his form compared to his teammates. Don't count him out. He could surprise you. |

I think both Farrar and Millar's true abilities lie in finishing in the bottom of the top 20.
IT'S ONLY A DAY AND A HALF AWAY!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???

Just so you all know, I will not be on the site until late sunday evening.
I'm racing in the morning, and I'm going to wait to watch the race on tv to see what happens. |
