Too be honest, no. Winning is nice, but winning everything (well, 5 out of 8) is almost too much domination. It also makes it less fun for you guys to follow it...
And the wins ain't over yet....

The Monster ladies make it interesting again
No, seriously, a little domination can be quite entertaining. Of course, if you'll win everything for the rest of the season, it'll be a bit less fun
So far I'm still enjoying that wonderful domination, though
In the 9th stage we enter the beautiful regio n of Toscane, with it's many historical cities. After visiting some of them on the route (Montalcino, Pienza), we finish in the town of Montepulciano, known for it's famous Vino Nobile wine, after a short but steep climb. Not t forget, the stage features 18 kilometres on the famous Tuscan white gravel roads, the Strade Bianche.
57km to go
Under beautifuk weather conditions, the BOTD arrives in Montalcino after a 5.5km climb at 5.4%. Stef Clement (Rabobank), Simon Clarke (Qantas), Fabio Taborre (Acqua et Sapone) and Christian Murro (Farnese Vini) have started their breakaway about 150 kiometres ago, and the margin is (max was 8 minutes) 5'20.
33km to go
When the peloton arrives at the first of the Strade Bianche, the road arises at a very steep gradient. In the climb of Lucignano d'Asso (1.1km at 8.5%), this peloton, with Euskaltel doing the chase, is 4'30 behind the 4 leaders.
21km to go
Clement and Clarke have dropped their 2 Italian breakaway buddies and arriving in Pienza at the Colle Pienza (1.8km at 6.1%), they have a lead of 3'52.
In the peloton, this is the moment for a double Spanish attack. Both Joaquím Rodríguez and Igor Antón attack, and we wonder if this was a setu or not. With still more than 20km to go, we decide not to counter, but to chase them.
15km to go
The chase is over after 6 kilometres, as it takes so long (or short) to catch the 2 Spaniards, thanks to an incredible strong Thomas De Gendt. As a result, only 32 riders are left in this group, with some important riders having missed the cut: Evans, Taaramäe and Masciarelli are some of them. The gap to the 2 leaders has decreased to less than 3 minutes.
9km to go
Meanwhile, Simon Clarke has dropped Stef Clement in the ascend of the Monticchiello (1.7km at 8.6%).
7km to go
When the peloton catches Clarke and Clement in the ascend of the Via di San Bartolomeo (1.3km at 8.85), we see that Igor Antón has lost his place in the first ranks of the group and is in the back of it. The neutral car stop besides him and gives him a new front wheel. Puncture for Igor Antón!! The number 2 in the GC looses time and has to make up for it. WHat a dramatic turn of the stage!
5km to go
At the same time, a split occurs in the first group. A group of 8 riders, including Thomas De Gendt, Robert Gesink, José Rujano, Michele Scarponi, Rubén Plaza, Joaquím Rodríguez, Christophe Le Mével and Janez Brajkovic. De Gendt was the initiator of the split, setting an extremely high pace.
40 seconds behind them follows the 2nd group with Samuel Sánchez, Mikel Astarloza, Simon Clarke, Wilco Kelderman, Igor Antón (who has returned in this group quickly), Stef Clement, Mauricio Ardila, Cadel Evans, Ryder Hesjedal and Tom Danielson. Ivan Basso and Mikel Nieve are more than a minute behind the first group.
1km to go
Plaza, Le Mével and Brajkovic get dropped and when the 5 leaders start the final climb to Montepulciano (1.4km at 8.4%), they lead the 2nd group with Antón and Kelderman with 45 seconds. It looks like that the return to the 2nd group after the puncture, has costed ANtón too much energy!
Finish De Gendt serves as the perfect lead out for Robert Gesink and the DUtch GC-leader wins his 2nd stage in this Giro. Rodríguez finishes in 2nd at '11 and De Gendt in 3rd.
Antón and Kelderman finish the stage 1'04 behind our Dutch leader. Does this mean the Giro is decided after only 9 stages?

1. Thank you, Thomas De Gendt!
2. Sorry for Antón that he punctured.
3. The opposition, except Antón, is simply not strong enough...

I gotta say, that was a beautiful ride. Result-wise but also shot-wise. A very nice stage and a strong winner. Beautiful!
Thank you. I'l try to take some nice screen shots every time, so I'm happy when someone appreciates them (and even as I don't have th best graphics card in my laptop).
@ sutty68: I'll promise you, we won't win stage 10!
The 2nd stage in Toscana is completely different than the first one. No Strade Bianche, no short steep climbs, but 206 kilometres between Siena and Firenze at flat roads.
40km to go
A big BOTD today, consisting of 13 riders, and guess what: they'll fight for the stage win today! As we have no intentions in chasing them, their lead to the peloton keeps increasing and increasing to a gigantic 17 (!) minutes.
Elia Favilli (Farnese), Mikhail Ignatiev (Katusha), Valentin Iglinskiy (Astana), Markel Irizar (Radio Shack), René Jørgensen (Saxo), Gianluca Mirenda (Lampre), Matteo Montaguti (Androni), Matteo Pelucchi (Nespresso), Anthony Roux (FDJ), Juraj Sagan (Liquigas), Wesley Sulzberger (Qantas), Francisco José Ventoso (Movistar) and Dennis Van Winden (Rabobank) are the lucky ones.
This is also the moment we decide to decrease the gap a bit, so we take the lead of the peloton. The maglia rosa brings some obligations!
Finish
16 kilometres before the finish, 3 riders attack out of the BOTD, namely René Jørgensen, Mikhail Ignatiev and Peter Sagan. They are able to create a marginof 25 seconds to the 10 others. Ignatiev starts the sprint in first place, so he's already without chance. Jørgensen takes over with 1500m to go and he's looking to get the win, but it's the older Sagan-brother who wins it. Juraj Sagan takes the biggest win of his career, and surely makes Peter proud!
Jørgensen finishes in 2nd, Ignative in 3rd and the Montaguti takes the 4th place. The peloton finishes 10'30 behind Sagan, and Marcel Kittel gets beaten by Mark Renshaw and Tyler Farrar! He was positioned very well, but when his final lead out Theo Bos took over from Thomas De Gendt, he got boxed in a bit between his Belgian team mate and the Omega Pharma-train, so had to make up for too many metres.

One easy day before the rest day As the hardest part in this Giro is still to come, with a hilly and 2 mountain stages coming up in stage 11, 12 and 13, we really don't mind that the stage went as today.
Now first the rest day, and then action again.
No new contracts
Some riders have decided not to sign new contracts for the team so far:
Thomas De Gendt has refused the offers so far, rumours say he's going to Lotto - Belisol to become a team leader there.
Theo Bos wants to be a team leader, so we have decided to split at the end of the season. With Kittel and Sagan, we have 2 world class sprinters, and he's enjoying being the final lead out for Kittel now, but wants to be the the main sprinter himself.
And finally, we have decided to split ways with Andy Schleck in common agreement. Andy wanted to be the only GC-leader in the team, something we can't promise him. Especially not with the developing of Wilco Kelderman and the presence of Robert Gesink. His contract expires at the end of the season and will now start talking to othe rteams.
Rumours are going that Monster Energy will end it's sponsorship at the end of the year, after three succesful years in cycling. We can announce that there will be a press conference about it the 2nd rest day. Untill then, we'll tell you 1 thing:
The first of 3 difficult stages is the one between Conselice and Valdagno. Stage 11 is 206 kilometres long and features 2 climbs in the last 35 kilometres. The last summit, of the Passo Zovo (5.7km at 7.2%) is only 7km before the finish.
94km to go
The first attempt to form teh BOTD is the succesful one. 8 riders (Baden Cooke, Anthony Roux, Mirco Lorenzetto, Mikhail Ignatiev, Jonas Aean Jorgensen, Igor Abakoumov, Maarten Wynants and Emanuele Vona) create a maximum margin of 7'30.
40km to go
40km before Valdagnoe, the 8 have a lead of only 1'14 to a group 3 with Daniele Pietropolli, Grega Bole and Thomas Rohregger. The peloton follows at 1'59.
31km to go
The 8 leaders manage to hold on to their lead while they cross the summit of the Passo Xon. The 3 behind them are coming closer ('47), just as the peloton (1'27).
23km to go DISASTER IN THE GIRO!
In the ascend of the Passo Xon, Francis De Greef hits the wheel of an Euskaltel-rider with his front wheel, and thereby hits GC-leader Robert Gesink, whom he was protecting! Both hit the tarmac and don't get back on their feet immediately. De Greef breaks a rib and has to abandon, while Gesink tries to get back on his bike, being bruised and with some superficial wounds.....
13km to go
Back to the race, where the leading group starts the ascend of the Passo Zovo (5.7km at 7.2%). Jorgensen, Ignatiev and Abakoumov have dropped the others and get joined by Pietropolli, Bole and Rohregger. The peloton follows at 1'26 and Gesink at 3'23.
12km to go
As expected, Igor Antón attacks. About 5 kilometres before the summit, Gesink is riding 2 tornantes (2'15) behind him, and the Basque sees this as THE opportunity to change the GC.
10km to go
It takes Antón only 2 kilometres to close the gap to the leading group of 5 (Abakoumov has been dropped). The first peloton with Kelderman and De Gendt follows at 1'02.
Gesink follows at 3'58! He seems to be pretty injured, as he can't follow the pace in this group and starts to get dropped more and more....
7km to go
Antón and Bole arrive at the summit of the Passo Zovo and start the descend towards Vadagno with a '24-lead to Giovanni Visconti. Cadel Evans and Daniele Pietropolli follow at '39, and a group including Kelderman & De Gendt at 1'11. Robert Gesink looses more than 3 minutes in 3 kilometres and follows at 7'05.
Finish
Igor Antón outsprints Grega Bole and wins his 2nd stage in this Giro. Evans, Visconti and Pietropolli finish at '29, and the group Kelderman-De Gendt (including Nieve, Basso, Danielson) almost a minute.... Oh, no.... They're given the same time as Evans, so the loss for our 2 co-leaders is only 29 seconds today.
7'31 after Antón finished, Robert Gesink finishes the stage... In the last metres of the climb, he even had to let non-climbers as Ben Swift and Denis Galimzyanov go.

Word from the DS
What a dramatic day for us..... Loosing the GC-lead because of a crash, that also makes De Greef abandon.
We're going for the hospital for some X-rays of Gesinks right wrist, just to make sure it isn't broken....
