PCM rulezz - That's for sure!

tovhol - Pfft

Jesleyh - Yet no GC victory Frown

dienblad - dog shit? You've been listening to Wiggins too much! It's a lot, but two TTs from Willy, a lot of sprints from Stijn and then some far out attacks since we don't have to defend the pink jersey anymore Pfft and...

Daggen - ... this of course.

krisa - yup!

Miguel98 - Nice that you're glad. He started a bit bad but he fully recovered, so it seems!

wogsrus - He's starting to be, I think. He can handle a lot of tough terrain and produce a high-speed sprint afterwards.

sutty68 - Thanks Wink

Jakstar22 - We'll see that later today!

Thanks for all the support. Final stage today and I'll probably try to get up until the NCs today!

Aftermath

Willy Wouters: This Giro has been about ups and downs. After an amazing start, I've had a fall back in the second week. Uran and Machado were the best here, there's no doubt about that. However, I feel I did the best to my abilities and I fought back as hard as I could. I can look back on this Giro with a lot of proud and hope to return one day to fight for the pink jersey.

Stijn Van Gent: After a mediocre start, I got the ball rolling in stage 9. I hit some kind of amazing form and didn't disappoint. It's been an amazing ride and this Giro will always have a special place in my heart, it's here that I reached the ultimate heights of my sprinting abilities, both literally and figuratively. It's my first Points Jersey and I fought hard for it.

Willy third in a sprint. Wow. Unbelievable from Sijn. Great tour from both guys.

Third place is also very good. But Machado is extremely overoveroverrated. Pfft

Does that word exist? Overarreted would fit nicer. Machado only does good in PCM. Need to do something with him.

It doesn't. Pfft I just invented it (or not Pfft ) to express the fact that he his extremely overrated. Pfft

All with all not a bad Giro: 3 jersey and a lot of stage wins. keep it up Grin
Winners never quit, quitters never win.

wogsrus - Sprinting at the end of a GT is always very realistic in PCM Pfft

PCM rulezz - Will do! The Giro was quite a success Wink

Jakstar22 - Thanks!

National Championships now, the rest is for another time, I guess! Thanks for following!

Willy: To help Stijn, I will try to get in the break.

The Race

Willy Wouters

My will be done! I went in the attack and spent the day in the break!

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/bel02_zps9bb233b3.jpg

OPQS did a lot of chasing, and we lasted until 30 km to the finish. It's all in a day's work here at Team Garmin!

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/bel03_zps1b639c3f.jpg

Stijn Van Gent

I was very cool today, suppressed my nerves perfectly, despite the big pressure on me. But then Van Avermaet attacked!

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/bel04_zpsa6c0e566.jpg

He got a gap, and it was growing. I ordered Vanmarcke to accelerate, I was to take his wheel.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/bel05_zpsc69ffd86.jpg

I got away and just when I caught Van Avermaet, the peloton caught us. With 4 km left to go, I knew I couldn't recuperate in time for the sprint after that effort. Damn it! Excellent bluff by OPQS. I wheelsucked Boonen for the sprint.

i1322.photobucket.com/albums/u569/IanButlerPCM2/bel06_zpsbb1b1043.jpg

But after that silly, stupid attack of mine, I couldn't pass him, damn!

Aftermath

Willy: I came back from height-training for these championships. I was too much out of form to beat a De Gendt, unfortunately.

Stijn; I thought I could do well in the road race. The profile was perfect to give me a second title, but it's my own fault. OPQS played it well. All my focus is now directed towards the World Championships. I'll have my revenge in next year's National Championships, though!

See you then,

Disappointed NC's from the boys Sad
Winners never quit, quitters never win.

It's difficult not to be happy when you're surrounded by Belgians. - Mark Cavendish

Jesleyh
A shame that none of them could grab an NC. Willy has got a more beautiful jersey in TTs atm anyway Wink

And nice that Kelderman got second in Suisse ofc Wink

Well too bad no GC win but it was still a pretty nice Giro. Shame also Tiago couldn't make it 2 out of 2.

As for the Belgian Championships who else but Boonen to ruin the party.

What is the next race for Stijn and Willy?

Ian Butler
PCM rulezz - Yeah, their form was not too good Frown

Jesleyh - That WC TT jersey is much nicer indeed Grin Maybe prolonging that would be great Pfft

alex344 - Machado was close but Uran was just too strong all around! Boonen is a known party-crasher for Stijn Frown Stijn will start in the Eneco Tour, Willy in Tour of Utah, I think!

FreitasPCM
A bit unlucky in the national champs...!
