OPQS could be an option, only if he is prepared to 'fly solo' as it were. |

I'm thinking BMC for him. Would on one hand cause a bit of conflicts with Evans / Van Garderen in the GTs and Gilbert in the Ardennes, but they should still have both the money and the room for him.
We must consider that he'll probably want Moreno and Losada to follow him wherever he goes. There aren't a lot of teams with three free spots.

Don't see a problem with Evans, since Evans is clearly done, too old. But Gilbert? That'll be too much conflict, I believe. |

Pelli's probably is thinking about PCM too much and decided to invent some PCM style transfer |

Its still Movistar, Radioshack or Garmin for me.
I dont think BMC need another rider like Purito, when Evans/ Van Garderen are both still there, as well as Gilbert.

Do they?
They have De Weert, Velits and Tony Martin. The team is focussed for Classics and sprints, and De Weert, and Velits can probably get Top 20's in Grand Tours, while Martin might be able to win 1 week Stage Races with minimal climbing.
Like others have said, they will be committed to Cav, and plus they have signed Brambilla who might be able to get a Top 10 in a GT anyway.

Martin had a lot of injuries this year that obscure it, but he can climb. In the basque country he finished 5th on the Arrate (brutal climb that one) and with Mollema and Horner on the Ibardin the next day.
If the time trial had been a flat one instead of a mountain TT he could have won the whole thing.

He can climb alright, but I still dont think he can Top 10 a Grand Tour, although I'd like him to prove me wrong.
Still proves my point that Omega dont necessarily need a GT rider.

They don't necessarily "need" RodrÃguez but they'd of course take him
Sky on the other hand am sure wouldn't take him. And I wouldn't either if I were them. He'd disrupt the team structure. BMC and Movistar have too much ridiculously misplaced faith in Evans and Valverde, so he likely won't go there either.
Astana would be a tough fit for the reasons I mentioned the last time we had this discussion. So that leaves QuickStep.

I doubt it'll be any of them. Movistar is the only one I see as even a slight possibility.
Garmin don't have enough space iirc, and Radioshack have way too many leaders already.
As isso said, OPQS seems like the only option.

I want him to go to Europcar, just so that we can have a Rolland-Rodriguez double act in the Tour. |

OPQS definetely. But hardly he will go their mainly because of Cav beeing their leader for TdF. |

Would be funny if he ends up without a team simply because no one is able to take him on.

Why not saxo? he didn't ride the Tour this year even as Katushas best climber, he could lead Giro and help out at the tour for contador, would make a pretty solid duo if they get on and work together

The world's number one rider does not simply ride the Tour as a domestique...
He wants to win the Tour himself, not help Contador. Plus, Saxo have already promised Majka leadership at the Giro. Also, I'm pretty sure Saxo's squad is already full.

He didn't ride the Tour because he was given the choice of what to ride, like most team leaders, and chose the Giro+Vuelta. I notice a lot of people from anglophone countries think the Tour is the be-all and end-all due to anglophone media only caring for it. If this is your case (no idea if it is or not), realize riders really don't see it like that.
Well, a tiny minority do, but that'll always happen the same as with any race. Simoni only saw the Giro. Hoste only saw the Ronde. etc.
Anyway, there's also what Pelli said: Purito won't be a domestique, he's the World's number 1 ranked rider, and Saxo has 30 riders already - a full roster.

No no, I'm well aware of the way riders don't see the tour, but surely that just backs up my point?
Regarding the full squad, fair enough I was just making a suggestion as to a potential fit, and he may be ranked no.1, however he's let down by a poor TT and I don't think it's fair to say he's the best.
Their are better punchers, there are climbers who can at least match him, and there are stage racers who can take him to pieces, he's strong everywhere and scored a lot of his points due to a weak field in the Giro D'Italia
