Lets also remeber Basso and Pellizotti, becuase they are two they can take bigger chance.
This two are Giro biggest idiots..teammates. They can be strongest duo on tour but probably will fuck this up ..with rivality.
Liquigas is clearly the biggest flop of this Giro.
Ok, with Cunego and Rodriguez, but that was expected

That's what it looks like. There is no team cohesion there. |

Levi have said that he promise he will attack. And maybe on monday..
Levi will win the Maglia Rosa!!
Do you really think that a guy like Leipheimer is able to attack and make gaps on mountains stages, against guys like Menchov, Di Luca, Sastre, Basso ?
Attack? yes. Make gaps? sure, against Di Luca, and maybe even some of the others. Just not likely against Menchov.
Leipheimer's chances in this giro are slim
In fact, I was mainly speaking about Leipheimer being able to attack Menchov and make a gap to him, which I doubt is possible, and I put other names of guys that are better climbers than Leipheimer (even though Di Luca won't be on great form anymore i think)
Not really. I'm pretty sure Di Luca will keep his form for the whole Giro, just as he did in 2007.
He's just not a climber of the level of the others. He's done fine on short, not steep climbs. But monday come real mountains, and he'll be in trouble, as always.

You really think Menchov is gonna win the Giro ?

Maybe. Monday will answer most questions

I think it's the most likely scenario.
Why wouldn't it be?
Anyway, in about an hour or two we'll know the answer to today's question: Will the break be allowed to stay away or is Di Luca really up for the stage and time bonus?
Basso and Leipheimer can also lose some time today

yeah but Menchov is first. He is one of the best climbers and on of the best TT-ers, in case that it could be decided in the last TT.
So yeah he is in pole-position to win Giro.

40 seconds in 14.4kms? No chance.

Dont count Levi out: he's now the underdog. Though, it's still unlikely he'll be able to gain time anywhere besides the TT on Menchov.
And about todays stage and Di Luca: He'll have to go for every stage now plus time bonuses if he wants this Giro, since he'll most likely lose time in both the Monte Petrano stage and the final TT.
Add the Liquigas boys and Sastre (and Soler), and you should get some stages with lots of attacks. |

No, it wasn't
LeMond gained less time per km than that. And that was against an injured Fignon.
Anyway, back to the Giro.
For reference, climbing times for the only mountain on the time trial:
Menchov
Leipheimer +0:19
Sastre +0:36
Di Luca +1:00
Pellizotti +1:06
Basso +1:15
Rogers +1:16
Simoni +1:39

such a coalistion is likely to happen yeh, if the opportunity for it comes. All need to take time back on Menchov. Working together they could easily isolate him from teammates.

Menchov, Levi and other guys need that Di Luca doesn't win today. Do you guys think it would make sense if Rabobank, Cervelo and Astana try to send a rider in today's break to prevent Di Luca to win or, at least, to force his team to work if he really wants to win today's stage?
