yeah with all that wind it was hard to end in a mass sprint. So I was sure that an attack will win it and I had to chose between Burghardt and Ignatiev. Burghardt was +4 form of the day so... |

Great victory by Burghardt. Winning that sprint was all about perfect timing.
Good luck in Lombardy. |

Giro di Lombardia
The breakaway. But they were there just to show the team's colors, nothing more.
On the penultimate climb Valverde makes his move. Evans is there too.
Gerdemann is after them, probably doing Kirchen's job
Few moments later Kirchen, himself, went away from the pack
And there was made a group with 8 riders that will attack the final difficulty of the day from the first position: Valverde, Evans, Nocentini, Kirchen, Kolobnev, Pierfelici, Rebellin and Gerdemann.
Though that they are 2, the Columbia riders aren't working as they don't want to do Valverde's job
That means that the pace isn't too high and some riders from the second group got back in business
At the end of the hill, Kirchen attacked right from Valverde's back
And the Spaniard has no reaction!
Still no everthing is going great for Columbia as one of their riders is down... the German Champion... Linus Gerdemann, too bad as he was in a good position
Now Kirchen has no reason to look back, he just has to push harder and harder
Just a few corners left for him and this season will end... probably with a win
Kirchen gets the win! Perfect end of season for Columbia, with 2 victories in the last 2 races they rode!
Valverde lost the sprint behind. But did he lost the Pro Tour victory as well? We are about to find out... quick math... and he lost it, Kirchen defends his Pro Tour title!
Gerdemann lost the chance to have a good results today. After his crash, he was escorted by Lars Boom to the finish line. They got the 22nd and the 23rd spots.

thanks. But I think this one was really decided by the form of the day. In my team Gerdemann and Kirchen had +5, while Boom +4. |
