One thing to watch out for now.
All those who were arguing that Lance could win for the tour will now be telling us how he is actually doing really well for somebody of his age.

Yes a very exiting stage, lets hope the rest of the alps will be like this.

About Armstrong, I think he would have lost about 2 minutes if not more, if Klöden hadn't been there he even finished ahead of him at the end.
probably.. he was 1:35 down with Kloden.
Kloden probably saved hime 30 seconds or so. Kloden might have finished with the Nibali group if he had not looked after lance... which probably cost him 30 seconds.
We'll see if today is an aberration or not in future climbs... but I think a top 5 and podium are definitely in reach. The only guys in the top 10 who can time trial better then him are Contador, Wiggins, Kloden and Martin... and he is climbing better than Martin... and Kloden is going to remain a helper even if he is stronger.
It feels like Contador is going to win, with Schleck, Armstrong and Wiggins fighting for the Podium. |

I don't know. Contador killed it off pretty undramatically. At least we had some action of course, but there was no drama.

Really impressing performance by Kirchen today though. Just behind Lance. |

Armstrong interview... essentially said he's "missing something he used to have on the top end" and that he's got no real chance to win the tour. Said he's riding for Contador and that things will be a lot less stressful at the dinner table. |

I doubt him on the podium a place between 5-10 is more likely to happend.

Wiggins --> positive
Where did I see this film before?
Maybe:
Gutierrez --> positive
Armstrong --> positive
Shumacker --> positive |

Wiggins lost 8 kgs. That's why he's a better climber. |

Uhm, you can stop bothering too much about it. Astana will lead from now to Paris. |

Possibly... probably even. But this is the first time he's admitted it. Essentially he said that you win the tour by having that "something extra" at the top end, but the only way you can tell if you have it is by riding a stage like this when you are in form. He seems resigned that he doesn't have that... and is pretty comfortable riding for Contador now. |

I think 4th or 5th is most reasonable.
There are few riders in the top 10 that are equal on the time trial. Contador and Wiggins definitely are. Martin is... but he'll lose too much to lance in the mountains for it to matter. Kloden is, but he'll remain a helper to Lance and Contador despite being stronger. Nibali was about equal in the prologue.
Contador is going to win.
Schleck and Wiggins will fight for second and third(if wiggins keeps climbing like today, he'll get it due to the TT).
Then Nibali and Armstrong will be in the 4th- 5th spot.
Frank Schleck and Sastre... too far back to gain enough time on Lance to make up for the minutes they'll lose in the 40km TT.
Evans is too far back and too far out of form. He's not going to climb much better then Armstrong.
Kloden will be used up for Contador before lance and will end up likely losing more time in the mountains.
The rest all climbed worse then Lance did. |

Kenny van Hummel survived!!! Finished at 45 minutes after being dropped on the first climb.
Also, if Nibali is 3rd on a mountaintop finish, then I'm going to cry that Gesink isn't here anymore..god f... |
