Thanks for keeping up the good work Smowz, you have a few diffrence with velogames who finally have updated their standings, but its only a minor thing, and doesnt really matter.
And i am nr. 1 |

Updated standings:
1. Wolves on Bikes (Olav S) 2247 pts (Farrar, Davis)
2. Kirkagaard cycling (Anders) 2143 pts (Di Luca, Petacchi)
3. Little Midgets (Sven V) 2134 pts (Cav, Farrar)
4. Patezi (terradda) 2069 pts (Di Luca)
5. Leeds cycling (Andreas) 2054 pts (Petacchi, Farrar)
6. EDTeam (Eoin) 2008 pts (Cavandish, Farrar)
7. Pride of Northants (R Tate) 1921 pts (Di Luca, Cavandish)
8. Team Mallorca (Andreas P) 1921 pts (Cavendish , Farrar, Goss)
9. 42 (Crommy) 1914 pts (Di Luca, Cavendish)
10. Ebbas hjaltar (Jonas N) 1905 pts (Petacchi)
Surprisingly the top team in our league does not have any of the highest points scorer in his team (Di Luca, Petacchi, Rogers and Lovkvist). It is increasingly looking like picking out gregerios such as Davis and Farrar is proving to be a correct strategy. Though in the second half of the giro their maybe less control exerted by the sprinters teams, though I doubt it!!!
It will be interesting to see what happens in the remaining stages remember we have two TT's, 3 sprinters stages, 4 'mountain' stages, and a couple of lumpy ones (I include the finish into Napoli here).
Plenty of time left for the standings to change - though I feel for the teams with Vandevelde in them - that I am afraid is a dead loss! |

Guido, Ad I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but the leader has ...
Basso, Menchov, Soler and Sastre - he also has Kessiakoff as a wild card rider.
He also has Davis, Farrar, B Hagan and Sioutsou. That is a really strong team, not sure we will see much of Siutsou again in this giro - but the other 8!!!
The only guy you have different is Leiphiemer - who may well rise you up the rankings but I think some of the guys above will be around his placings.
Unfortunately it is as I indicated before the key is picking successful Gregerios.
Davis, Farrar, Gatto, Swift or Goss (this one is a surprise) who are really sprinters - Davis and Farrar in particular have been up there as much as possible. I think Farrar is the fastest, Davis can hang around on medium hilly stuff also. I think like most if I could pick again I would have gone for three of these.
Kessiakoff, Horner, Rohregger and Seeldrayers have been climbing well enough that they probably should have been classed as climbers. They have chances to have high places on the coming days.
Lovkvist stands alone as really a guy who is having a breakthrough Grand Tour race in terms of a GC man. I get the feeling he may find it difficult to hold his high placing though I think he is a decent TT man.
A lot of people myself included went for guys like Pozzato, Gilbert, Cancellera, Ignitiev, Voeckler and Gerrans who we imagined may get stage wins - this strategy may still work in the second half but I am not certain they are not saving for a one time go (like a siutsou). |

I have made this error too. I think that Di luca have been a better choice. |
