Nairo ''the racer'' Quintana whining. While Froome who I considered to be a robot before keeps gaining both time and the cycling fans.
I really don't understand the love for Quintana

Oh my God this really is like Schleck all over again. Complain when the course doesn't suit you.

He had a point

"As always, losing time is not what we want but looking at this incomprehensible route - which seems hard to believe, honestly - which made us pass through the series of towns that we did, on top of that wind, racing with the risks that entails to riders, to the public,"

The race route did have a heap of road furniture and bottlenecks when going through the towns.

Then why don't they complain whenever they have to race in the lowlands? Road furniture is always a part of the sport, and it didn't seem any worse than usual in the previous stage.

Plus the actual final selection happened on a wide road IIRC.

I don't disagree with you, all I was doing is adding to the discussion as there was more to what he said than just blaming the wind, also how often is Quintana racing in the lowlands? Wink
I think it's pretty stupid getting quotes off riders just after a stage has finished, they more often than not say something stupid especially after an intense effort when things didn't go 100%, people tend to get all worked up about these types of quotes which is a bit silly considering the situation of when the rider is asked.

Looks like Quintana gets now a considerable amount of haters. Maybe it's finally enough to win the tour then

Oh come'on...Froome's whining is always done by Brailstrong.
Froom's press agent and the media training made him incapable of saying anything other than dull, generic set phrases in interviews and press conferences. Like all those look and sound-alike football players.

I assume that people don't like Quintana better or hype him, they just don't like him less than Froome.

I'd rather see Frank, Pinot or Kelderman win the TdF but since that's not gonna happen I just go with the lesser evil and that is Quintana.

Oh and road furniture. Any of you guys grew up in the 70ies or 80ies?
There was almost no road furmiture! A crosswalk was just painted on the street and not accompanied by a road narrowing and a traffic light and a limited speed zone with a ton of speed bumps and an S-load of signs on the side, on the road, on the acutal road furniture....you name it.

So yeah the increased traffic hampering by road furniture made cycling more dangerous in the last 20 years. All just because ppl can't properly drive anymore and every d-bag needs a 3 ton, 2.80m wide "car" that accelerates like sportscar. But that's a whole different story. Sorry for that outburst.

People can not equal Quintana because he sit on the wheel and wait to 20 stage. It's boring. Froome and Sagan sees possibilities, they see the least chance, so they attack.
