The time gap the breakaway and the chase group are being allow today is like night and day compared to yesterday. Advantage of the lead group over the peloton over a whole 10 minutes, with the chase group containing Kreuziger still a sizable chunk of time ahead of the peloton as well.

Is Tinkoff really leading the peloton? |

Apparently so, yesterday was all a ruse to get every use to the sight of Tinkoff - Saxo on the front so they can pull off a Roman sized ruse today.

Sky is playing poker damn well, i dno what this is all about, but its fun. Had probably done the same if i was Contador, i wouldnt be to sure about such a big break, allthough Kreuziger for sure is the rider with the best chances of holding on |

I love this. This is exactly why the Giro is so much better than the Tour. Yesterday was very Tour-ish, now we're finally back to real Giro racing!
Today has got shades of L'Aquila. Imagine all the fun and games we'll have if Kreuziger gets minutes on the rest.
And I also love how Quickstep is in no way strong enough to bring this back on their own.

At least no one gains 2 mins on everyone on a neutralised descent in the Tour. |

This had been perfect for Intxausti, Anton oor Izaguirre, thats the only possible way they can make some noise in the real GC. Visconti is great for the stage win, Amador has proven he can win as well, but neither is able to sustain anything GC-wise. Only one chance in a race like this....
Great to see Chaves once again. |

Yeah it does have some similarities to that stage other than the fact it's great weather so the peloton gaining some time back towards the end changes it a bit.
Question about Kreuziger, does he lose any results here once he finally gets banned when his case goes to CAS? I assume he does but I'm curious

Most likely he'll loose his results from 2011-2013 |

Even if the other teams think they can crack Kreuziger over the rest of the three weeks they sure are playing some tough faced games of poker with Davide Formolo and Esteban Chavez also in the group.
Formolo and Chavez may currently have less pedigree in Grand Tours due to being young and having short careers in comparison to Roman, but that's a dangerous game to play... Seems Astana may be beginning to agree.

They both are top 10 candidates with a little time in hand, really liked how Chavez has ridden the last 2 days

How big is the Peloton right now 30 riders??? Also tinkov only with 1 helper for Contador and Kreuziger at the front.

Zakarin not in that favourites group anymore for those who expected him to be in contention for top 10.
