Stage 1
Favourites

Weather
It's dry with a clear sky, but not too warm. Very good weather for cycling. The wind might play a role though.
Stage prediction
Keep in touch with the pack, hopefully have a shot at the sprint with Johnnie.
In this short stage the break isn't likely to get much space. Still, some riders try. It takes a while to form a good break. This one with Khieu, Erdin (Atlas) and Henttala (Novo Nordisk) are in it.
The lead quickly increases to 3 minutes and at KoM1 Khieu takes the first points pretty much uncontested.
The pack obviously starts making the pace, but on the 2nd climb the break still has a gap. Khieu is first again and seals the polkadots for tomorrow and the day after as well.
The climb causes a big split in the pack, some outsiders for today like Fortin and Pelucchi miss the cut. Surprisingly all our riders manage to keep up.
With 20kilometers to go Henttala drops out of the break. The 2 leaders have 1min32 to the pack. Khieu also pays the price for his efforts and is dropped by Erdin. With 10kms to go Khieu is reeled in. With 5kms to go, Erdin still has 20 seconds, but the chase is getting more and more organized.
With 2kms to go Erdin is reeled in and Hulsmans and Reda start their lead-outs for their sprinters.
With 1km to go Gavazzi is in the lead, but who's there? Johnnie is trying to come closer. Could he stunt here?
At the finish
Johnnie stunts! He just wins in this field. He beats both Gavazzis, who come 2nd and 3rd. This victory also means we lead all classifications.

Johnnie!
Too bad he can't hold that jersey, but what a win..
Guess it'll be working for the team tomorrow. Point jersey would be nice to keep though.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

@All: Thanks
@Ollfardh: Well, it's the TTT, so we have the points and KoM at least for stage 3, which is positive.
Tomorrow I'll first post the results of the TTT (quicksim) and then a preview for the Alentejo. Well, that's if I have enough time for that

Stages
The first stage is already very important. The hill in the end is steep and should shake up the GC a little already
The following 3 stages are flat and should end in a mass sprint. No big differences in the GC expected.
The last stage seems another chance for punchers. Although it's classified as flat, the finish is uphill. A last chance for shaking the GC.
Our squad
Björn Arvid will be co-leader here. As a good puncher, he could get a good result here.
Armin Berg-Hansen is here as domestique. He can also be helpful in the sprint trains though.
Kristian Hammarling is our sprinter here. He will go for a good result in the 3 middle stages.
Fatbardh Haxhi will serve either as lead-out or member in the sprint train here.
Simon Holt is the other leader here. His strong punch combined with a very good sprint make him a good outsider.
Taeke Roorda will be here as domestique, to either protect or to go in the sprint train of Kristian.
Ásgeirr Silferberg will also do some domestique work. He is having the same role as Taeke here.
Djaja Susanto will be an alternative in the sprint or lead-out for Kristian. In the hilly stages he will be a domestique.

My prediction
A good result is possible here. Very well possible actually. Stage win or top-5 GC would be very nice

No time trial and a good route for the team, I'm confident that Arvid will perform well. I wouldn't underestimate stage 4 though.
Good team time trial by the team too. Not losing too much time on the other teams. Now it's up to Peter to make something happen.

That TTT was so unfair when looking at the startlist..
Alentejo sure has a lot of opputunities, weakest field we encountered so far imo.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Would have liked some images of the team in the TTT (Please don't sim it next time...please!)
Now we are some way through the season it looks the three stand out riders are:
--- Flodder, Pal and Haxhi (maybe they can all get a pro contract next year?). |
