YESJ!
Dont be too optimistic, both Rujano and De Gendt seem very strong.

Facepalm for Valverde.
Quintana is going great, though!

IAM going the utter sh*t way at the moment. The top 10 in the KoM goal is the only goal achieved on this moment, and the Swedes are just on a rubbish spot in the GC. If I was IAM's manager in real life, I'd be fired by now.

Stage 12
Finally back to sprinterland, with a very short and very flat stage. The last of the very few and very low hills lies on more than 40 kilometers from the line. The stage should thus end in a mass sprint.
****Mark Cavendish
***Andre Greipel, Roberto Ferrari
**John Degenkolb, Andrea Guardini, Matthew Goss
*Tyler Farrar, Elia Viviani, Alexander Kristoff, Nacer Bouhanni

Vacansoleil is a joke
but you're right, one right breakaway with two riders off one team can easily close a 8 minute gap (2x4 minute break) |

We have to get the maglia rossa back this stage. Seems like Degenkolb has a real shot there.

Well, Rujano and De Gendt were really strong so far and Mollema or Gesink might have an off-day.

Well, the stage is fully flat, but that means there are some sprinters who should do better. Getting the rossa back seems realistic though

You did go all in at the 'real' section, so why not here. Besides, you get 1 every day

Longarone - Treviso
Sprinters day today. The stage is very short and very flat, so a mass sprint seems inevitable, despite the small squad size. Anyway, we join you with 95 kms to go. A small break is ahead and has a lead of 2min47. The riders: Philippe Gilbert (BMC), Gorka Izagirre (Euskaltel), Fabio Taborre (Vini Fantini) and Anthony Roux (FDJ).
The pack is lead by Omega Pharma, Lotto and Orica.
Bad luck for Lampre: leader Scarponi crashes. He does manage to come back in the pack.
No battle at sprint 1, where Roux is first and Taborre 2nd.
The first climb of today knows some kind of battle. Gilbert obviously won and Izagirre became second easily. The gap with the pack is 6 minutes.
No battle at sprint 2 either. 1st Taborre, 2nd Roux. The gap with the pack is already 4min49.
At the 2nd KoM prize, there is a battle. Gilbert 1st, Roux 2nd. The gap with the pack is 4min27 and it looks like the break could surprise the pack today.
With 15kms left, the break still leads with 3min12, but the pack has taken off more than a minute in the last 5 kms.
With 5kms left, the pack has given up and the break can go for the win today.
With 2kms left, the pack surprises everyone and the gap is under 25 seconds. Could the pack make it to the group?
At the finish the pack hasnt made it, making the winner of today
Fabio Taborre! He probably takes his best victory ever. 2nd is Gorka Izagirre, 3rd Gilbert, 4th Roux. The pack gets the same time and the winner of the pack sprint, who becomes 5th is Nizzolo. No major things in the GC, surprisingly neither in the battle for red, no major things for blue and white and the teams as well. Just a spectacular stage today.

BTW: A little question: do you think the 6 rider thing has added something to the Giro so far, like more attacks, more surprises. To me, its a bit disappointing so far with only 1 real surprise, but do you think else?
Spoiler Not that Im not motivated or something, this is just out of interest

Meh, there goes my money
Nah, 6 riders thing isn't a huge improvement, but I think we'll see that better when we've been in more mountains, with leaders not having a lot of helpers etc.

Okay, something seems wrong with the standing post, so I will check that again later today and see whether I can post the standings properly. Nothing has changed in any significant way
edit: found the problem, Daily doesnt accept accents for a while, and with Rujano, thats a problem. I will have to wait until that it fixed
