And Le Mans is helluva more important that F1 in all aspects. Also worth noting is that there was a dane on the podium in all four classes!

It's fantastic No one has ever won Le Mans 8 times ..
Well the put up a good fight and in the end they won ... Audi was a lot slower than Peugot the entire race (the lap time) but their strategy was better |

Also, they passed Peugeot in the night, when it had been raining for many hours, Audi was faster in the rain... |

Well it's a combination of luck (the weather) - Peugeot's problems and a better fuel consumption.. But I think Audi have to make a better car for next year.. Or at least a faster car than the one they had this year .. |

Yeah, the R10 is pretty much already at the end of its usefullness. Peugeot will come back next year with a car thats even faster or more reliable, and then Audi cant hope the rain or the fuel consumption will save them.

or that Peugeot will get problems.. But I think they've realized that this year.. (that they need to make a faster car for next year) .. They were shocked by how fast the Peugeot was in the tests .. They were not prepared for a car that was that fast.. But they will be next year .. |

All the F1 drivers are considering a strike at the British Grand Prix. They are considering a strike due to a huge increase in the cost of their licences. For each race last year they had to pay £1,300 and this year it has risen by over 500% to £7,800.
Last season Lewis Hamilton had to pay £1,300 for his licence and Kimi Raikkonen had to pay £24,050. However this year they have to pay £171,000 and £172,500 respectively. (I only chose 2 drivers, there are more that have gone up. Button's has gone down because he only scored 6 points last season when he scored 56 the previous season)
They also have to pay more for each point they score. Last season they had to pay £350 for each point scored, but this season it has risen to £1,500. That means if someone scroes 100 points this season (I think 3 did last year) they will have to fork out £150,000, for driving well.
Alonso has been particularly vocal in his disgust saying lots of things, the main point is "If the money is going to safety and to improve the circuits then maybe we would be happy, but there has been no answer. When we suggest things about the new rules the drivers think are unnecessary or unfair at the GPDA, the FIA does not listen to us"
Lots of drivers aren't happy and some have said, that yes it might be ok for the big names earning £10-25million but for the people not earning that much it could be hard to get by.

It was a rather boring race, I'd say. Dominance by Ferrari, more penalties for Hamilton's stupidity. |

I still can't believe how anyone actually thought the Renault was good yesterday. it was so obvious it was the typical Renault publicity stunt so it'd look good in France. The car was running on almost no fuel, as always.
What are you talking about?
The Renaults had loads of fuel; they were two of the last cars to stop.
Since when is that a typical Renault stunt?
They never do that. |

They did it in Spain...
EDIT: Alonso qualified second and pitted first of everyone:

And in France, Alonso had the first planned stop:

On lap 15 Alonso is the first to pit from 4th place, coming out just in front of Hamilton.
On lap 18 Button retires in the pitlane.
On lap 20 Hamilton passes Alonso for 12th place, but then pits for fuel, while Trulli and Kubica pit the next lap from 3rd and 4th, and leader Raikkonen and Timo Glock on lap 22, Massa and Webber on lap 24, Piquet and Kovalainen on lap 26, the two leaving at the same time, Kovalainen passing Piquet on the pit exit, the Brazilian seeming to suffer a problem.
again: the usual stunt from Renault. Alonso went 5 laps less than anyone else. that's a tremendous difference in pace.

That's only Alonso, Piquet was one of the latest stoppers.
It's not a trick anyway, it's just a tactic.
When the midfield is as close as it is this year the best thing you can do is either fuel just short enough to be 1st or fuel really long.
It would've worked really well if he had of had a better start; unluckily he went down to 5th from the start line, if he had of stayed 3rd he would've finished on the podium. |
