If Queiroz would just replace all-star Ronaldo for someone that wants to play football while standing in his feet we wouldnt be struggling that much to defeat such mediocre teams...
I just can't understand why the banana in that post.
Due to Portugal's exibithion I can't understand that. It was pretty hard for us to qualify and after this game I just can't believe in the qualification. And it isn't just Ronaldo. It is aswell Carvalho, who is playing terribly comparing to the past seasons. It is Pepe, it is impossible to a central defender play flawlessly at defensive midfielder, added to the fact he didn't play due to his suspension. It is Deco who seems to have even less will than Ronaldo. It was, in this game, Boa Morte, who played really bad.
Summarizing, it is mainly Queiroz who has alternatives, even without many quality, to all this players and he just puts them in the bench or just don't call them at all, preferring to call four goalkeepers for only two matches.
I was watching the match with some of my mates and we were all laughing about how ridiculous it would be to celebrate a late goal in a situation like this one... and 5min later we all exploded with B.Alves header and realised about the coincidence - that's why the banana's there
And yes I agree with most of your points but right now it's easier to point the finger to the man you believe to be most responsible for everything...
and wtf?? Edinho!!

Bear in mind that Pepe played the first few years of his career for MarÃtimo and Sporting as both a defender and a defensive midfielder.
And in fact, Mourinho signed him with the intention of making him Costinha's understudy and future replacement as defensive midfielder.

I like Queiroz. I prefer him to Scolari. I believe that in a few years, Portugal will have a strong squad. But all I can judge is the present and some of his options at the moment. Like using Pepe, and I'm bearing in mind what Isso said, a player with no game rhytm, in the midfield against a weak team. In these games it would be better to use more offensive midfielders because the incapacity of creating goal-scoring opportunities just sickens me.
In the second half I saw a bunch of players with white kits, doing three steps and then passing the ball to nearest guy, either Albanian or Portuguese.
Who's better than Edinho? Nuno Gomes?
I don't believe in qualification. There's no time to improve until the decisive games with Hungary and Denmark.

Daah ! How diifuclt could it be to score on a penalty ? Kim Källström ?!?! Okey I`m a big fan of Anders Svensson but anyway Start with Viktor Elm against Malta and Holmén. |

Congratulations Denmark, Sweden didn't play well today...
I agree that Sweden can play better - but I still think that the team is waaay overrated, and that's mainly because of all the hype around Zlatan. He's definitely a world-class player, but Sweden tends to forget that one player doesn't do it all.
Yesterday, they pretty much played kick'n'rush.
Anyway - this was amazing! It's never felt so good to finally shut the mouth on the Swedes. Having read the Swedish media, Denmark would be a walk-over, according to them. It wasn't a discussion about who'd win, but by how much Sweden would win, and how many goals Zlatan would score.
So, bye, bye Sweden. If you want some World Championship feeling in 2010, feel free to come and visit us |

I believe Portugal's main concern is the same as Sweden's! Both of us are not playing as an actual team! We're both relying in individual rushes and for me it's clear as water that the players are lacking confidence in their own abilities as well as in the capacity of the team to overcome their opponents (which in this case tend to look much stronger as the match goes on!)
Since that match Denmark won us in the last minutes I think it's obvious the danish have grown a lot of confidence in theirselves and have a much more fluid game. On the other hand we've been tremendously affected by that and are desperatly in need of a psychological boost to start playing at our level!
As to Sweden I'm convinced what you need is a new coach! preferably a dutch one! all that offensive potential is going to waste...

I know it's only a friendly, but it's very weird to watch Portugal play when (except for a world class central defender) everyone on the starting eleven is 3rd choice or so

It's a miracle that Holland-Norway is still only 2-0
Norway is shit, even Iceland sucked less. All they do is defend, and even that they don't do good. We get a shitload of chances but their goalkeeper gets everything
Apart from that, Norway is shit.
Have I mentioned Norway plays like shit? |

You forgot that Norway plays like shit there.
Now we don't have to listen to them saying it is still possible here in Norway. |

You will have to win everything and Scotland must lose at home to Holland. |

Holland is going to win against Scotland, but we are only going to get 1-2points so it wont be happening this year either. |

Drillo is God himself, obviously
Defend like crazy, and you'll win, according to him.

We so aren't just because half our normal defence is out with injuries or ban Cause we've send out our secret assasin (read waghlon) out to shoot Ronaldo and Simao in their precious little legs.
