@all - thanks for comments
Tour of the Reservoir
Team: Kennaugh, Kwiatkowski, Clarke, Rowe, Williams, Thwaites, Barker, Hammarling
Todays 167km "hilly" race finally sees the sun shining. A glorious day for a bike ride, if you ignore the 9% gradients. The days breakaway came out of the first attacks!
Sutterlin(TET), Acevedo(JSH) and Burkhardt(TSP) formed a fairly doomed trio out front. We will catch up with them with 40km to go.
40km to go - As we enter the penultimate lap the break holds 3'00, with Node4 chasing
20km - Starting the final lap the gap is only 1'13, with RAL and CCC aiding the chase
16km - Holmes(RAL) launches an attack!
12km - Holmes and the break are caught simultaneously. And instantly Carlstrom(LAR) attacks!
10km - But it doesn't last long as Node4 and CCC pull him back
5km - Node4 take full control of the lead-out, as more and more riders are dropped
3km - The sprints begin with Hammarling pulling for Node4
1000m - Under the Kite Thwaites leads for Rowe, but several others a lurking right with them...
FINISH - Rebellin takes it on the line!! Rowe is second and Andriato third.
1 | Davide Rebellin | CCC Polsat - Polkowice | 4h17'47 | 2 | Luke Rowe | Node 4 - Rexona | s.t. | 3 | Rafael de Mattos Andriato | Team UK Youth | s.t. | 4 | Scott Thwaites | Node 4 - Rexona | s.t. | 5 | Thomas Murray | Rapha Condor - JLT | s.t. | 6 | Tomasz Smolen | CCC Polsat - Polkowice | s.t. | 7 | Stephen Adams | Team Raleigh | s.t. | 8 | Ben Jacques-Maynes | Jamis - Hagens Berman | s.t. | 9 | Jarosław Marycz | CCC Polsat - Polkowice | s.t. | 10 | Matthew Holmes | Team Raleigh | s.t. | 15 | Karl Hammarling | Node 4 - Rexona | s.t. |
Comment (Not Karl)
Beaten by a 77hl... i'll take that. The final lap of this race is always fucking mental, and this one was no different. We also flooded the Top20 with Kwiat and Kenn as well. Onwards to France and the Lincoln GP
Karl: 7/10 ___ Node4: 8/10

@alnibbles - Well he won it in 2013, and will be leading the team this year. Signs are good for him

"but a quick succession of busy nothings"
Hello, been a really long time since i last blogged. Sorry but i've been working furiously for months now. I'll explain some of what i've been up to, and talk a bit about the racing.
Lets start with the racing. I've been off to a couple of races. Unfortunately at that early stage of the season we did not have the fitness or form to challenge for results. So it was really quite dull and trying to get through the days, and build up to a point where we can challenge. Now, i think, we are at that point. Luke is picking up lots of Top10's, and the whole team is dominating the UK scene. We hope to carry this recent form into the important up coming events.
Outside if that i have been working on two projects. The first is recruitment and scouting. The second is training. And there is a third thing that has been taking some of my time, but i will get to that a bit later in the year. We have been trying to get our riders to re-sign contracts. Marcin, James and Pete have all resigned with us already. They are very happy with the team and want to continue to grow the project. But Phil, Matty and Karl are all, as yet, un-signed for next year. Personally i am unconvinced any of them will put pen to paper for us, but Malcolm wants them all to stay.
But on the flip side, we have already contracted to neo-pros! Jakub Lukaszewski is 22 and from Poland. He is currently the top U23 rider! And Pete Day who is 19 and British. He is currently the Top Brit and sits 10th. Both will join us in August as stagieres. Which is all good news.
Of course we struggled in the early season. So i was tasked with evaluating every riders training.... Uughhh... Don't know what i did to deserve that. So i had to collect everyones training data from October up till then. Sit down and go through every session to see where things could be improved. This took for bloody ever. But that project is done and we have to wait and see the results over the next 2-3months. Hopefully it will have made the difference and the team will start grabbing those results.
I have also, wow i have been busy, taken a bit of time personally and been back to Stockholm. There to catch up with various family members, especially Karls mother. She is coping, and is very glad to have the rest of the family around. I know Karl doesn't talk about it much but i can tell its still hitting him hard. But lets not dwell and get ourselves down...
Next up i'm off to Germany for a couple more races, including the .HC Bayern-Rundfahrt. Should be interesting. Signing off.
Mikel

Lincoln GP
Team: Lavery, Hammarling, Barker, Bialoblocki, Thwaites, Kwiatkowski, Moses, Sampson
The Lincoln GP is the jewel in Premier Calendar crown. It is 162km of 15laps around the town, taking in the Michalgate cobbled ascent. The weather is gorgeous, warm, sunny and a light breeze. All eyes will be on Node4 who dominated in 2013, and Veldhuizen the best cobbler here, by some distance
The days break formed on lap 2. Mould(UKY) and Danacik(BAU) made a daring two man move. We will pick up with 40km to go, around 3 laps.
40km to go - The break leads by 2'00 over the MTN lead peloton. Some pre-race favorites are 1'00 futher down in A1
20km - The break now holds a slim 51". Behind them riders are strewn in small groups. Most of the favorites are in groups up to 2'30 down. The pace is high as everyone wants to get back or stay away.
12.5km - The break is caught by the lead group of around 30 riders. Next time we hit this climb it will be to finish the race. Node4 are piling the pressure on and the race is exploding!
5km - We now know how this race will finish. E1 8riders. 5 from Node4, Veldhuizen, Danacik and Taksel are the only ones going to fight for the win.
1000m - Its Node4's to loose
FINISH - And they don't disappoint! Thwiates wins. Lavery second and Hammarling 3rd! Over half the field fails to finish

Comment (Not Karl)
This race is way too easy, due to its road network. 1 voice road, thats cobbled and uphill, yes please. Stay in the first 20-30riders and guaranteed success will follow. I predict the upcoming german races will not be as easy
Karl: 9/10 ___ Node4: 10/10

Just an interesting note
Accent Jobs-Wanty who were promoted to the WT for 2014, have scored 2 points at this point... 2 points. 2 whole points. 2! Just 2... not 12, not 22 just 2.
To compare the next worst team is FDJ with 230 and they are in trouble themselves...
DAFUQ?

I don't know.... none of their riders have visible WT results...
and to rub it in further they are also being outscored in CQ by 12 PCT and CT teams!

Good news! Amongst exam season i've done a fair amount of story boarding for this. I've now got 4-5 fully fleshed out story lines to run over the next couple of seasons. Also i'll be updating again fairly soon.
