Don't think it will take long.
Yeah. San Sebastian is just weeks away.

As much as I like those races, they aren't classics. The Canadian races I mean, SS obviously is.

Well they dont have the historical meaning of other races yet, but many riders target those races, and they are pretty exciting every year. At the least its a good place to prove yourself.

Hey a half-injured Kruijswijk at not even 70% of his possbilities worked his but off for that LL Sanchez today.
The best Dutch riders that started the Tour have left because of injuries.
I don't hear people complaining about Danielson (give up), Hesjedal (given up), Leipheimer (injured) and Valverde (injured) every day but dutchies, sure... while they were in the same situation.
It's unfair judgement |

I love how you ALWAYS defend the dutch riders. Yes, they have been unlucky, but that doesn't change the fact that LLS once again gives Rabobank a victory when the riders who supposed to ride the GC failed - even though they crashed. So did LLS, but managed nevertheless to get a win and save the Tour. Respect.
It was not meant as a offence, but clearly you interpret it like that.. it was just a congratulation to LLS |

Unlucky? I thought that was their tactic. Their leader crashes/sucks and a Spaniard saves their Tour. It has been happening since 2009, with the exception of 2010 when for some reason Menchov and Gesink (!) didn't hit the tarmac.

I'm seriously pissed off with the tour this year. For the first ever time I have to work through it, and the weekend stages are all awful.
Any half decent racing seems to happen during the week, where I obviously can't follow it.

Wiggins in an interview after the race: 'Nobody wants to benefit from someone else's misfortune'.
/facepalm
If he was true about this he would have called to wait after the peloton crash in stage 6. The only reason he waited is because he knew he could afford it, and it would make him look good. |

Actually I think Gesink hit the tarmac a few times in that Tour, including the stage with Arenberg, but miraculously survived

Haha so true, just like Contador giving Schleck the stage as a sign of good sportsmanship after winning the tour because of bad sportsmanship. |

Congrats, you found a way to make another post of Wiggins-hate! You must be proud of yourself
On Stage 6, it was GreenEdge who continued to lead the peloton after that crash. Sky werent involved in the relaying. Why would anybody listen to Wiggins on Stage 6 if he wanted the peloton to wait anyway? He wasn't the race leader then.
Plus, its not as if GreenEdge were riding then to gain time on those who crashed. They were riding for the stage win. Today, there was no stage win to be ridden for.
Also, why single out Wiggins for Stage 6? I didnt see Evans, Nibali, Menchov, Van den Broeck, Sanchez, etc etc trying to get the peloton to stop relaying.
No doubt if Wiggins hadn't waited today, people like you would have been having a go at him for not waiting. Grow up!

Considering that earlier in the same Tour Schleck attacked with Cancellara when all the other contenders (except Evans) were caught in a crash (that was Frank Schleck's making no less!) and gained almost two minutes that way, I don't blame Contador in the slightest for not waiting for Schleck.

Of course not. If someone has a mechanical then bad for him, it shouldn't stop others from racing, because cycling races are, after all, races. The 2010 Tour of Oman was specially awesome, with Cervélo gapping Hagen when he was taking a pee.

He didn't have the yellow jersey then like he did today |

Wow, someone seems to be offended. I expected better from an admin. No need to take things so personal.
For the record:
- I don't hate Wiggins
- I think Wiggins is clean
- I think Wiggins deserves to win the Tour
Your post is filled with prejudices like these. Just because I point out this bit of utter hypocrisy from his actions doesn't make me a hater. It's sad that you jump to conclusions and put me down as a kid and a troll.
I don't care that Wiggins didn't call a wait in stage 6. He didn't have to. In my opinion, riders don't need to wait at all. The Tour waits for nobody. That's why it's wrong that Wiggins waited today. The fact that he waited now and didn't wait on stage 6 is hypocritical.
It proves to me, along with his deliberate riding into the final crash on stage 4 to get his finish time scratched that Wiggins is an opportunist. That's ok though, because I expect nothing less from a GC rider. A good GC rider should be an opportunist.
Today's wait was unnecessary and silly. No need to put me down as a trolling, hating kid just because I'm pointing this out. |
