It also depends on how many cars Grosjean will take out in the first km...

Luckily, there's only one chance in his usual 15 second crash window, and only one more the next 15

Senna's a bit far to hit the leaders, but he's also a contender for taking guys from the middle of the peloton out.
And don't rule out Kobayashi, although he's most likely to take bits of cars off rather than cars out. |

Lol, I don't have any idea of the track layout anymore...
I remember the Hamilton -> Mr. Bean scene, but apart from that, I couldn't have told you whether they raced there last year.

i'm convinced it's to make alonso look better then he really is. what alonso manages with the ferrari wouldn't look anywhere near as impressive if he had a teammate that could actually compete for the championship or race wins.

@sammy
WRONG!
Alonso is the most talented driver in the field bar none
Massa is comfortably a top10 runner even on most bad days. His recent performances in Korea and Japan show that he can still be fast.
Its true that since missing out in '08 and his crash in '09 he hasnt quite be the same, but he's coming back. Its only for 1 year anyway then Vettel will move in and Massa will move down the field to somewhere like Williams
Remember Alonso beat Schumacher twice in '05 and '06. Nearly beat Vettel in '10 when the Red Bull was clearly superior. He nearly won in '07 if not for the in fighting. He took a win in '08 with a shit Renault in Singapore (yes dont mention pique). Best not mention '09.
Alonso is better than Vettel, Hamilton, Raikonen, Roseburg, Kobayashi, Button, Webber etc. He really is
ah, sorry, that turned into a rant.. and i dont even like Alonso...

I dont think Alonso is the best driver at all. Hes good, and consistently makes a car perform its best, where as someone like Hamilton is just in a pretty good car. I still believe Vettel is a better driver than Alonso. Do you remember Vettel's first win with Toro Rosso? That was really good. Not to mention Vettel is a great qualifier and is a very strategic driver in races. Its not often he's out of the Top 5.
Maybe Alonso used to be the best driver, but I dont think he is anymore.

i'd disagree, obviously
Vettels win in '08 at Monza was great, but it was hardly a standard race.
Vettel has always had the best car since, '09, '10 and '11 (arguably '12).
Alonso hasn't had the best car since maybe '05 and '06 with Renault... Yet he always produces a solid, consitent and high placing drive.
He picked up 5 wins in 2010 against a superior Red Bull and McLaren - Vettel got 3
He bagged a win in 2011 agains that Red Bull...
We are still yet to see Vettel really have to fight for a win or championship. The closest was 2010 but even then he had the best car and team.
I wont deny Vettel is a great driver but Alonso i think is better.
Even this year Alonso has 3 wins to Vettels 4. Plus Webber has 2, so clearly the Red Bull is a better car (unless you try to tell me Webber is better, then i may have to kill you )
sorry another rant sort of thing

@TMM
my point wasn't saying that alonso isn't a great driver or that Massa is a bad driver. But when one driver is clearly alot faster then teh other it makes one seem brilliant and the other mediocre.
I just don't think Massa is still deserving of a seat at a top teamand would be more suited to a mid table team like williams as he's still a good driver and he has 10 maybe 11 years of experience i forget which but he's top among the top drivers anymore and would be better suited to a team that wants to deveop alongside a younger driver similar to how Irvine and Barrichelo were after leaving Ferrari.
About Alonso, I don't think he's the best driver on the grid. I would probably say that Kimi is as his car isn't the best and is probably similar to the ferrari but he's still able to challenge for podiums despite the time he took out of the sport rallying.
anyway if Alonso had a competitive teammate then he wouldn't be thought of in quite the same way although at times it seems the ferrari is all about him in the same way that the Ducatti's were always made solely for stoner.

Alonso as strong as Raikkonen, but Massa is crap, right ? Over three seasons at Ferrari, it's very close between Raikkonen and Massa. Raikkonen barely has an advantage upon Massa (one could argue that's the difference between a WC and a guy who loses a title after he's passed the line). Be it in qualifications, best laps in race, wins, podiums or points scored, they were very even at Ferrari.
The main difference is that Alonso has managed, like in most team he's been in, to have the whole team focused on him, when most teams even with a 1st and 2nd driver are more balanced between drivers. |
