But GT winner or Paris - Roubaix winner? I can't see it.
I agree with GT, but i dont agree with PR, he is very good on cobbles and has abnormal stamina. Add more experiences and it is not a complete sci-fi for me
And about Merckx, just dont forget this man was doped as hell, everyody was in these times (that doesnt mean he is not a legend).
Edit:And it is not fair to call Sagan just a punchy-sprinter. Fact is, he seem to be able to beat the best punchers on hills and best sprinters on the flat, this is unique and special.
And now i end OT from me, sorry for that, this is stupid discussion, just wait and see

If he's very good on cobbles, he's yet to show it, because he has no result of note in any cobbled race that I can remember right now.

He may not have proved it, but given his power and bike handling it would be a surprise if he couldn't handle cobbles. I remember him winning on a cobbled climb finish in the Tour of Poland 2010 (or at least I think I do). The Tour of Poland's not Paris-Roubaix though, surprisingly enough. |

Sagan won stage of Tour de Polgone(or Tour of Poland as you want;p) last year it was a cobble finish in Cieszyn well there wasn't very much cobble but whole sprint was on it |

I believe he rode P-R last year, and was doing good, but flatted before one of the cobbled sections.

Well most of you know Sagan for how long, two years? I know him since being maybe fifteen (i was waiting very long for this moment when all the cycling world will start to realize who we have here).
He is the beast on every terrain and in 2008 he was second at Paris-Roubaix espoirs, the same year he won junior world championships on mountain bike and finished second on cyclocross world championships (juniors). I think cycling history never seen such a diversional season from a youngster, if he was specializing on cobbles rather than mountain bike, he would have been winning all the junior cobbled races he entered, but that was not the case.
But we are off topic here, as i said, wait and see.

Are you sure? Cause according to a little thing called CQRanking he wasn't.
Also, lets have a look at the podium from 2005 onwards. How many riders from there have confirmed on cobbles after turning pro? None. Still that doesn't matter since Sagan wasn't 2nd in 2008.
And stop making him look like a God. Only because you know him doesn't make him that.

I am sorry, i misplaced that with espoirs, this one is for younger cyclists, it was big deal for slovakian cycling so i remember that. I also dont make God from him, i didnt start this disscusion either, i am not crazy to think he is the second Merckx
I think i am not a crazy fanboy, just giving facts (this time wrong facts).

I'm talking about professional cobbled races, thought that was obvious. I mean, Yaroslav feckin Popovych won Paris - Roubaix espoirs. I know he has the goods, he's got some nice power and he's a ridiculously good bike handler, but that's not enough to win P-R.
To clarify, I'm not saying he won't ever win Roubaix, but merely stating the fact that so far he's done zilch in the cobbles.

And Voeckler once came 2nd to Boonen at Paris-Roubaix espoir, yet how would we rate each of them on cobbles nowadays ? Boonen's one of the strongest, Voeckler is barely average.
It's hard to tell how long again Sagan will keep improving. I wouldn't be that surprised that he'd have a season à la Gilbert 2011, within a couple of years, and then an equivalent palmares. But the return of Valverde and Gilbert's presence on the biggest races may give him some strong competition (they have more or less the same profile as him). |

The weird thing about Popovych is that the only time he's ever done Paris - Roubaix he finished in a group competing for 12th place. He may as well try and re-invent himself now that he is way off being a GC rider or a good climbing domestique, but then again RadioShack aren't bothered about classics. |

He got 30th 7 minutes down, yup. He could be a decent domestique, nothing outstanding, but better than many at RSN I guess.

So today is the day, who will win the overall? Pretty much anybody from the leading three, but if i would make a prediction, i think it will be 1.Nibali 2.Kreuziger 3.Horner (he would be better in the longer time trial i think, Kreuziger and Nibali are better in the short ones imo). It should be great battle

To me it's a question about morale, and I think Nibali has performed awesomely the last 2 days. Almost made up for his bad TTT, that's got to give him something extra. (I want my PCM$) Gonna be as exciting as last year when Gesink took virtual blue halfway over Evans.

I don't think Nibbles is a good enough TTer to get this, although I'd love it. I think Horner will take it, although Kreuziger will be close.
