Looks like Gomez Marchante had a really good day, can't complain about that jump GC jump at all!

No opposition for Madrazo!
Will be very interesting to see what he can do in the Tour.

Yeah Madrazo vs. Cunego could be epic.
Another good stage for Contador. Seemingly the 2nd best climber, and 3rd today behind Valverde is good.
My dream scenario for stage 21. 5 riders jumps clear and wins with a couple of minutes. Bright sun and no crashes. If that is the case this has been my dream Vuelta. A bit bummed that Tim Dees was this poor, but I guess he just doesn't have what it takes to be a proper domestique in races this long. Had hoped for him to end up around 30th-35th though.
Contador well placed in GC, Sprint and Mountains competition. Can we hold on to those positions I'd be very happy.

Mb isnt going to have fun in renewals, if Madrazo goes on to do very well in the Tour aswell
Intxausti within touching distance of a podium, which would be brilliant. He does seem to like the Vuelta, fortunately.

Too bad Machado cracked on the last week. 6th is still a very good result for him nonetheless.
Just missing the stage win but I'l gladly give it away if it ensures Machado won't crash on the last stage

If he actually wins the Tour aswell (which is possible), i think you might be looking towards 1.5mil wage.

Same system as has been used for a few seasons Top results in the big races leads riders to wanting more money

Then I hope a little French guy who won on the Mur de Huy will remember that his stats are declining and don't ask for too much

Spilak was the most expensive rider at 1.1 last year right?
I figure that Arroyo was always going to be a one season play, so as long as Madrazo stays below 1.25 million it should be fine.

But he "only" won the Tour, and only by a minute or so. Madrazo winning the Vuelta by 10mins and perhaps the Tour. That is total domination, much more so than I ever remember seing in the Man-Game.

Cunego won the Giro by 12 minutes in 2010, although he "only" won 3 stages.
I guess I hope that as Madrazo only got 3 races he won't pick up too many points.

Thing is, the Tour is higher rated then the Vuelta and the Giro. Madrazo dominated the Vuelta, so he'll get on the same wage as Spilak just by that, although i'm guessing with the amount of stage wins, point/KoM jersey, he'll be even higher. Add to that a Tour with a probable podium and a stage win.
At best, i see him ending with the 1.3mil from Cunego last season (if he doesn't crash at the Tour ofc.)

Ow well, i certainly can't complain with 2 stage wins and 4th in both KoM/Points. However, i feel a lot of these flat stages were just a waste.
Anyways, overall, very great reports, Smowz! Great job!

Amazing reports, and an excellent result.
My grand plan from when I started the game three years ago has paid off.

Great reporting all the way through, Smowz!
And congratulations to Santander, superb performance. Nice to see Zeits grab 8th on the final stage, I'm having some hopes for him for the next season. |
