Dekker's 27 now. He still has lots of years in to go in cycling and I believe he does have the talent to win races. The only thing I have my doubts about is his motivation. |

Don't be naive. Dekker was on drugs the whole way. He just isn't honest enough to admit it.
You want to see Dekker's results riding clean? Look at 2008. What did he do? He sucked. That's the real Dekker.
Compare his results so far this year to results of others coming back from suspensions and his are horrendous. Even in his supposed strength the time trial.
Vaughters can't possibly be thinking of offering him a contract.
Even more fail of Isso.
2008:
3rd Castilla y Leon (behind Contador and Soler)
3rd Pais Vasco (behind Contador and Evans)
5th AGR (behind Cunego, F Schleck, Valverde and Rebellin)
5th Fleche Wallone (behind Kirchen, Evans, Cunego and Gesink)
6th LBL (behind Valverde, Rebellin, both Schlecks and Pfannberger)
And he was 2nd in Romandie before he dropped out being dead tired.
Yeah I can see how awfully he performed.
Besides, you got your facts wrong. He only rode clean from 2009 on... he sucked in the beginning because of the after effects of doing nothing half 2008 (he sat on his ass when he was fired) But even being in sucky form he was top 20 in LBL, top 5 in the Tour of Belgium and top 20 in Suisse (and 3rd in the ITT).
Jesus isso, 3 out of 4 wrong. Not our usual style
It was a typo. I clearly meant 2009. That should've been obvious
You may not want to admit it, but he's nowhere near a top rider without drugs

Yes, from that documentary they showed somewhere this summer it was clear he's in a fragile state mentally.

-The Tour de France announces it will start in Belgium in 2012.
-Gilbert is happy.
-The Tour de France announces the first stage will be flat.
-Gilbert is unhappy, threatens with not starting the Tour.
-The Tour de france modifies the stage, and puts an uphill finish.

Heh. Still, I'm not sure if he'll participate next year - he's focussing on a completely different goals (the Valkenburg WC) and won't get much chances for himself anyways, with last year's tour winner on his team. Resting during the tour and doing the Vuelta would probably make a better preparation to the WC than a busy Tirreno-Flanders-Ardennes-Tour-Vuelta schedual? |

I can't see him losing the chance to win a TdF stage, then possibly taking yellow for a few days at home. He might start the Tour then retire before the mountains, although Cadel surely wouldn't like it.

most the top teams at the tour had all(or most) riders at the end, so i think it would be nice for gilbert to suffer for cadel. |

Liquigas finished a lot of GT's consistently with their entire team now, come to think it of. Must have been 9 GT's in a row now I think |

Just checked, and 9 it is. They didnt finish any in 2008 with the full team, never failed ever since.

That's impressive... I can't remember of a team doing that. |

Very impressive. But Liquigas is also doing very good in most of the GTs imo. |

Nobody wants to quit after such a crash and injury. So I think we'll see him in a few races, maybe his bloved Liege-Bastogne-Liege and the retires.

The guy has amazing bad luck. He only falls once or twice a year. Not more than any other rider in cycling in other words.
But he breaks his fall with his bones instead of falling like a normal person.
