Looking grim for Evans

Looks like Andy will definately go for the KoM jersey, but Izagirre stopped him getting the full 10 - best tactic for Vanendert and Sanchez now in the competition is to hope Andy cracks, and go for the stage win to take the mountain points at the finish.

The peleton surely won't let a repeat of yesterday happen. |

Pineau told Eurosport this morning he's fed up with this race, he has no reason to carry on and so it might be his last day.
He's got a reason today, helping a friend and go for a french win in the tour.
Epic stage already.

Not that much time for Contador and Andy - Could be a killing themselves move... You must think that they will be caught up a bit in the descent, and then the Liquigas train should hold them a bit on the climb...

Yea but it's not like there will be many helpers left if they go up the Galibier at this pace. It's the same situation as yesterday all over again that someone needs to take the responsibility and also have the legs to pull it back (which Euskaltel and Saxo Bank riders didn't obviously have yesterday) |

Moncoutié leading the group on the descent? The guy voted in a poll of the riders as the worst descender in the pack is leading the descent?
I like it

Unlike yesterday, there's still a large peloton of helpers, though. Both BMC and Liquigas working at the front. |

Agreed. I don't think that Contador cares at all about a podium spot. |
