if iam not wrong then Ciolek is comming back to HTC Columbia next year so the leadout was a small favour and he wanted to prove that he can be a very good leadout man |

If Ciolek is going back to HTC, why would leading out a soon to be teammate's rival for the green jersey be a good idea? |

Prove he's still go it.
Besides Cavendish has all but given up on green. Early last week he said he'd win stages, and if it comes, it comes but he thought it was gone.

Thor back in green again..
Two sprint stages left..it will be hard to keep it all the way.
If Petacchi will miss Thor escape on Tourmalet stage..(there is sprint before mountains)..then he is a idiot. There not hard to predict Thor tactics..how he keep failing? |

prove against whom?
but let's speculate a little... in further times ciolek opened the sprints for cav and renshaw for hushovd. nowadays renshaw opens for cav and ciolek for ... the only "sprinter" who remained in his group
well, to be for real ... i don't really think, that columbia will sign some other guy for the lead-out. at least they don't have any need for that. the combination cav - renshaw fits perfectly. so either ciolek takes the role of greipel and will never ride a tdf again or he decides to join another team ... perhaps as a lead-out rider for a green jersey guy like hushovd? who knows? |

Hushovd really needs an leadout man cuz they guys he has right now sucks (srry but its true) Ciolek would be a good man for the job. They only way Hushovd is winning an normal mass sprint if he has an perfect lead out like Dean did for him some years ago |

Hushovd need focusing for classics..he has no speed anymore for regular flat sprint..
It will be better for him also to notice this and fast. |

i just hope that if Petachi is using drugs then they get him before Paris
Would be a shame if he won the green and then got caught 1-2 months later. Hushovd deserves to win the point jersey. |

so why it would be Petacchi the one who's using drugs and not Hushovd who stays in the yellow jersey group on a stage with Tourmalet and Aubisque?

If Petacchi wins the jersey, it's just as much deserved as Hushovd if Hushovd wins. Petacchi has shown that he is a great sprinter and gained lots of points in the pure sprints. If that's enough to win the jersey, well done to him.
That's at least what I think. |

i belive that the jersey is more a point jersey than a sprinter jersey so its just as fair if a more complete sprinter wins it. |

But Hushovd isn't a complete sprinter
Hushovd, the modern Hushovd, is a classic specialist who sprints backwards and gets owned by C-sprinters and with a bit of luck he sprints top 10.
A disgrace to the Green. |

I know that we norwegians on the forum is known for being quite fond of our own riders and their abilitys. But the norwegian journalists are not that much better.
A norwegian reporter asked Sastre if he thought Hushovd was one of the best climbers in the world after today's stage |
