wielerflits.nl reports that Horner is negotiating with Saxo Bank... Can't quite see that happening
Nicolas Roche is also said to be going to Sky.
And I believe we've already talked about this, but Ricco wants to ride the Vuelta. He's looking for a team where that's possible |

It started when someone posted a comment on Horner's blog saying that Horner was going to Saxo Bank. Wielerflits saw it and somehow decided to run with it. Dumb.

Yes, he commented on it before. He said he had several offers but wasn't interested. He wants to finish the season with Flaminia, then leave in January.

If thats the plan, thats a strong idea. Very strong.
Also on the subject. Gesink said he says the level difference between Contador/A.Schleck and the rest is huge. He is not quite sure how to close that gap. But contemplates the idea of riding 2 grand tours a year. |

About Contador being shit at english, hence not going to Saxo Bank. I cannot imagine in a worlds space, that he is shittier at speaking, let alone understanding english than Carlos Sastre.

Kreuziger's dad said today that he and his son are considering a move to an other team. Everything should be clear in 2 weeks.
In the other news, Stybar probably stays in Fidea.

I've been impressed with Contador's english. For someone who never wants to speak it, i'm glad he did try and his message comes across well.
At least he tried today - We do know here that not everyone speaks English, even though most British people expect it.

Andy and Fränk leaving Saxo Bank. The absolute ideal signing imo for them would be Kreuziger and perhaps Rein Taaramae. Riis seems to be incredible at building young talents, and those are inquestionable two of the biggest. Kreuziger already showed during the last couple of Tours that he has a good solid climb and a good TT. Good enough for top 10 GC. At Saxo Bank he would probably be able to get that last notch which would make him a podium candidate. Not good enough to beat Andy nor Contador, but 3rd wouldn't be impossible.
I can't see them getting a better rider... Menchov has most likely performed the best of his life this year, same goes for Samuel Sanchez. Gesink is the hope of Rabobank. Joaquin Rodriguez must be happy about the amount of climbing km's this season, hence better than expected. Hesjedal overperformed, and isn't likely to do much better in the future, while the likes of Klöden, Horner, Leipheimer and Sastre seems over the hill.
That leaves:
Jurgen van den Broeck
Roman Kreuziger
Luis Léon Sanchez
Nicolas Roche
Thomas Lövkvist
Kevin de Weert
Daniel Moreno
Who might be able to turn into something like a top 3-8 rider. At Saxo Bank they need a captain capable of winning the Tour at some point, and imo only Kreuziger has that potential. Jakob Fuglsang could be a top 10 candidate at one point in his career, as can probably Chris Anker and Ritchie Porte.
What are your thoughts?

Well that last notch for incoming stars to Riis could be hmm...
Hesjedal I disagree with he didn't overperform in my eyes, he did surprise but he was always a very good climber and some stages in the 08 and 09 tour could have outclimbed VDV but stayed in his role of domestique. That said you may be correct about him not improving much over the rest of his career, although I hope you're wrong.
I think riis will rely on Porte more next year too, |

Breschel and LLS are both confirmed at Rabo by Erik Breukink, who didn't comment on Menchov leaving. Looks like Denis is heading to Katusha, where he'd be the #1 for the GC's. |

LL Sanchez will propably ride for Rabobank next season, so you can leave him out |

Kreuziger to Saxo could be interesting.
tbh, next year we might see the weakest saxobank/CSC in many years. I'm pretty sure about it really

Well it's really hard not to have the weakest team for years, since Andy and Fränk are top 10 of the world and before that Carlos Sastre won the Tour. So unless they get Contador they really don't have a chance at matching the teams.

That would have been nice for Taaramäe..he will need strong manager. But he has extended now with Cofidis two more years |

I have to say what I've always though. Where does Jakob Fuglsang get this mad idea that he's a grand tour top 10 candidate? What has he ever shown to back it up? Someone enlighten me.
But to be beaten by Russell Downing in the Tour of Ireland smacks to me of someone who isn't a grand tour winner. Regardless of peaks or no peaks.

Its because of his MTB background. We keep associating him with the Chicken.
