Ofcourse he gets suspended but someone like Boonen in the past doesn't. Really, UCI get real. Or is it because Boonen's were out of competition?

BMC is NOT Phonak v2.0
I just say it because I'm bitter.
At least that's what I get told every time I say they're Phonak v2.0 "just because" they have mostly the same staff and owner
Thomas Frei positive for EPO
EDIT: BMC's statement on this is the same as the ones on Ballan and Santambrogio word for word.
This should not be seen as pre-determination of guilt. The rider will now have to personally address the accusation. Giggidy.

Heh. What a bad day to inform about a positive test.
(Yes, that's the main surprise...) |

David Kopps suspension for the same offense (just not in an uci race) got extended to 2 years although he already was allowed to race and win again in the meantime as he originally just got a 1 year ban but the ban was extended afterwards.
And i wondered about Frei's 9th place in Giro del trentino yesterday

More nepotism:
Peter Sagan has renewed with Liquigas. To renew, he demanded that Liquigas sign his brother Juraj.
Juraj Sagan will join Liquigas in June. Chuck another one into the pile of guys who don't have particularly outstanding talent, but get contracts because of who they know, while more talented people are unemployed.

That's the second time Gavazzi tests positive on cocaine. He tested positive in 2004 too. So that means he's going to be banned for life now, right? |

No. Juraj Sagan isn't really bad rider. He is like Martin Velits, worse than his brother but not so bad. Velits is good helper in Columbia, decent time trialist, not worse than other helpers in Columbia. And I think Martin Velits could be again one day better than his brother, like he was in start of theirs career..
Juraj Sagan has pretty same story like M Velits..

Martin Velits had good results in the Giro del Capo and Tour of Japan against pros, and later a full season with Wiesenhof riding the biggest races and doing very well for himself.
What's Juraj Sagan ever done to show anywhere near Liquigas-worthy talent?
And SotD: Not like the schlecks at all. Andy Schleck had very good youth results before he turned pro

12th in the East Midlands CiCle Classic is a career changing result. Clearly. Pivotal turning point in his goal to get to a Pro Tour team.

I didn't think anyone could take that comment serious. It was quite ironic. Andy was always known as way more talented that Fränk.

He is a Dane, you can't expect them to remember a rule as simple as that

11th in U23 World Champs in 2007 as helper of Peter Velits?
Yep. His results aren't that good. But he is better than you think. I know him personally.
And one small notice. Riders from Eastern Europe have much harder to enforce. There are too few teams or races, for example there isn't any good functional U23 team in Czech Republic. Czech Republic's U23 national team is practically non-existent. And these teams almost never racing in races in Western Europe, no money. So Czech or Slovak juniors have to go to Italy or France.. And this cost big money.. So Czech Republic have only Kreuziger and Rabon and Slovakia only Velits' and Sagan. Otherwise cycling is very popular sport in Czech Republic.

This isn't about how good he is.
It's about whether or not he's good enough for Liquigas. Either he is, or he isn't. And Juraj isn't.
There are much more deserving riders, but he gets in because he knows people. That's ridiculous.
