And I have considerably harder races to have to win, as their popularity is far, far, higher.

With wildcards, they are there for fun.
There is no incentive to ride there other than to see your team riding in some of the larger races. If it affects your continental race plans then it may not be worth it.
Rankings or Prize money for it? No way. That would be unfair on all the teams not getting a wildcard into a race.
Also - if you are a new team, whether youve signed a big rider or not, you won't receive a wildcard to one of the GrandTours. Likewise, Sony Ericsson may not get into the GTs since they got to ride them all last year

Not even if they sign last years winner?

Even if they sign Andy Schleck, Frank Schleck, Fabian Cancellara, Alejandro Valverde, Damiano Cunego and Tom Boonen
Besides, the 2009 Giro winner Cunego is still in the ProTour, the 2009 Vuelta winner Mancebo is still in the ProTour, and the 2009 Tour winner Devolder is going to British Airways, who are not a new team |

Ok fair enough, I assume that the hilly monuments will be achieveable for new teams?

Yes, all other PT stage races, classics and monuments will be open to all CT teams. Generally they are selected based upon the team, it's riders, the race, and how many other ProTour races a team will be getting wildcards for. |

Speaking of budgets, im probably this season's poorest team by far. I think i had either a 3,something budget this year.
And im only going to use Devolder and my TdF option this year if it doesnt affect his south american schedule and his visits to Volta a Portugal and Duo Normand together with Millar.

I meant his, as in Devolder. Personally, i hope i don't come up against any of the riders i was forced to get rid of. I have a feeling they would come back to bit me in the ass, and get me relegated.

Yeah it'd suck if they bit you, but i shouldnt worry too much, my focus is on CT and TdF would only happen if he had enough race days to not compromise the four races i plan to send him too.

Just been looking at the training post by Crommy.
Forgive me if this is somewhere else, but do temporary training camps play a part in the man. game? |

I don't think that the training in man-game is like the training camps in real PCM. Here you just pay money to raise your riders stats (not just for an while) me thinks.

Yes, Crommy has a post explaining the training side of things in terms of long term gains. Rjc also posted something about stat progression.
I am wondering about short term stat boosts as in the training camps in PCM. |
