I'm thinking more on the lines of Gustav leading-out Peraud of the stage win. Which because of the time bonuses gives Peruad the GC win. There is no way Gustav can pick-up 3'55'' on a solo breakaway on a totally flat stage. But we well see what happens.

Tour de Delta Stage 3 Report
The final stage is another one for the sprinters. With GC times so close together anybody could leave today with the yellow jersey. Well maybe not Larsson after what happened to him yesturday ...
A breakaway of 10 riders get away, but are eventually caught.
Larsson with something to prove today, just didn't have the energy to keep up heading into the final kms.
Peraud has to fight for himself, jumping in and out of sprint trains, he is able to make his way upfront.
Clarke wins back to back stages, Peruad finishes 24th.

@baia Also it should be fun to see if Menchov can keep up his form after beating Contador in Stage 10. Note: Menchov won the Criterium du Dauphine Libere, and Contador won the Tour de Suisse. Andy Schleck has yet to show any potential either (On top of that Gesink is 2 seconds in front of him). Should be an interesting tour ...

Tour de Qinghai Lake Stage 2 Report
Today forecasts another bunch sprint finish if everything goes well in bring back the breakaway. Lovkvist has his sights on the next three climbing stages.
The morning breakaway going over a bridge, nice clear weather for today's stage.
The breakaway just continued to grow, and by the time we reached the final climb, 20 riders had a 3'30'' gap.
But just as in stage 1 the peloton does their job, with 3km to go. Eddy Ratti (De Rosa - Stac Plastic) makes a last ditch effort for his work in the breakaway ...
But he is sweeped up by the sprint trains, Lovkvist is suprising a few teams by sneeking onto the back of their trains, trying to find a rare bunch sprint win for EA-Sony.
Karl Menzies (UnitedHealthcare) leads the field to the line, closely followed by Janek Tombak (Cycling Club Bourgas) and the winner of stage 1 Tomasz Lisowicz (CCC Polsat Polkowice).
Lisowicz makes his move ...
But not soon enough, Menzies win the stage. Lovkvist ends 1 spot short of a top 10, for a well fought 11th place. Also I have to point out that Peterson fell off the pace in the last 10kms, losing 2 minutes.

A: Well, first off to keep my legs loose because today was really boring in the peloton. Plus you never know if you can steal a stage win. The next three stage should be fun and exciting.

Tour de Qinghai Lake Stage 3 Report
Thomas Lovkvist sits 28 seconds behind first with today's stage providing his first reasonable chance at gain some time back. But the climb comes halfway through the stage, so a bunch sprint is not out of the question.
For the third day in a row a large breakaway tries to get away at the sound of the gun; Peterson jumps into the breakaway to help the team out today.
The peloton doesn't like the large breakaway today and brings them back 25kms later ...
Peterson (still with full energy) tries his hand at creating another breakaway before the climb.
Only three riders are able to get away, and Peterson is caught between the peloton and the two man leading group at the base of the climb.
The pace slows down with 5kms from the top and Deignan makes his move to reach Peterson, who is struggling on the road without support.
Over top Peterson sits in 3rd, Deignan attack brings 5-8 riders with him. Lovkvist is still stationed in the peloton with no reason to attack.
Deignan meets up with Peterson in no time, ... But after a quick chat Peterson gives Deignan the O.K. to go on without him; after the race we found out Peterson just ran out of energy. Deignan charged on ...
Back in the peloton Rory Sutherland decides he can't wait any longer, Lovkvist has to counter against what looks to be his strongest opponent for this tour.
They fly by everyone ... Deignan drops back into the peloton with no reason in be out front anymore.

Sutherland peaks over his shoulder and sees the fury of the sprint trains behind and throws in the towel ... Lovkvist isn't going down without one last attack!

Tour de Qinghai Lake Stage 4 Report
Lovkvist looks to shine and put his hands on the leader's jersey today. Only thing that could stop him is the long distance from the top of the climb to the finish ... And maybe Rory Sutherland.
Peterson jumps into the early breakaway for the second straight stage, but today it doesn't last long ... Just 20kms.
18 other riders manage to get into the breakaway, their lead over the peloton is 3'50'' at the start of the climb.
Lovkvist makes his hand gesture to Deignan; and Deignan sets-up Lovkvist for the counter attack ...
Deignan slips back into the peloton, Lovkvist charges on ...
Lovkvist has a chance to reach the breakaway before the top.
And he does ... 3kms remaining in the climb ... No attack from Sutherland.
Lovkvist over top in 2nd, he forms a 3 man lead group for the long downhill.
20kms to go, Lovkvist is still out front.
With the peloton not chasing, an attack gets loose. Deignan makes his move with them with nothing to lose. Sutherland stays put.
Lovkvist meet by the attackers with 5kms to go.
Over the team radio ... "Large Crash in Peloton."
Race Rival Sutherland hits the pavement, unbelievable ...
Alexander Gottfried of Team NetApp Wins the Stage. Team NetApp has a great day today; 4 riders in the top 10. Deignan finishes 11th not losing any time. But Lovkvist loses 1'06'' after a poor sprint to keep up. And to end on a good note, Sutherland comes in 2'37'' behind Gottfried.

A:No question Lovkvist. Sutherland is no longer a threat and Lovkvist's training was set on this long tour. So their is no reason to doubt he will still be wearing yellow when stage 9 is finished.

Well its been a while, and since I don't have enough time for a race report I though I would post a few TDF Updates that I have finished ...
The Pyrenees are up next: Can Contador hold on, or will Menchov steal the show. But don't leave out dark horses Andy Schleck or Robert Gesink just yet. Should be an interesting finish to this 3 week long tour.

Lovkvist is ready for a second chance today to gain some time back from the leaders. Local T.V. stations surround Lovkvist as he gets out of the team bus. Many question if he is still the team leader, a few ask he will even attack today. Lovkvist walks through the crowd of reporters without answering anything. He gets on his bike and makes his way to the start line ...
Many large breakaways get away, most of them got brought back right away. As the peloton reached the start of the climb, Lovkvist orders Deignan and Peterson to set the tempo.
Thomas Peterson takes to Lovkvist orders right away, and brings back the rest of the breakaways ...
Philip Deignan doesn't let up after Peterson has to fall back into the peloton to regain energy. The non-climbers are falling off the pace. Deignan cuts the peloton down to 90 riders.
7.5 km from the top, Lovkvist makes the first move. A long ways from the finish but if any rider could make it ... Lovkvist had the heart to do it.
Sutherland and the other top climbers realize that Lovkvist isn't messing around. They decide to attack 2 kms later, Lovkvist has already created a 1'30'' gap.
Lovkvist is now ready for the crucial descent, with a health 2'25'' lead over Sutherland's group.
3 minutes ...
4'30'' ...
At the sprint Lovkvist is losing energy fast, Sutherland's group is now only back 1'30''.
10 kms to go, Lovkvist gets caught. Now all he can do is try and hold on.
1km to go, Lovkvist is slipping back ... He can't afford to lose anymore time.
Hugo Sabido (LA - Rota dos Móveis) wins the stage after following Sutherland all day. Now taking a closer look at Sutherland's group, one important rider was missing - Alexander Gottfried (Race Leader) He is back in the peloton with Peterson and Deignan. They lose 1'38'' to Sabido. But the bigger question is if Lovkvist gets the same time as Sabido.

Update: Well today marks 1 Year since I started this story back in 2010. And sadly I didn't make it through a whole cycling season racing each stage. But this isn't going to stop me from finishing this season. 3-4 Race reports on the weekend. Sorry I haven't posted anything in the last few weeks been busy with school work and went back to playing my PS3. But I'm back and ready to finish what I started.
