Sorry about this British politics rant, but it's one amongst many, many startling facts concerning UK politics:

Labour have budgeted to cover the costs of the £185million ID card scheme by selling the ID cards to UK citizens who voluntarily decide to buy them. If they don't sell enough, the government will have to foot the bill (taking money from other parts of the Home Office (e.g. policing)). 13 million need to be sold in order to break even. Estimates put the number of people who will buy them voluntary at 3000. At most.

Not voting Labour then?
I'm not going to attack any party on here, however I have strong views against conservative, greens, UKIP and of course BNP.

I have strong views against all politicians. I read the Private Eye - when you start reading that regularly, you realise they're all like this, and things like this are a regular occurrence (as in every day), irregardless of party Wink

There's things wrong with every party, but for me the party to lead this country over the comming 5 years is Labour or Lib Dem. I'm waiting until the end of these TV debates to make my mind up.

Shock

You do know their leader is Gordon Brown, don't you?

And Lib Dems do look by far the best choice at the moment - Clegg looks a surprisingly good leader, and Vince Cable is one of the finest economists in the world. Vince is one of the three major players in politics I would actually feel confident in letting run this country.

Oddly, I don't choose who I want to be leader on personality, rather the job they have done, or say they will do. Gordon Brown is alright, not the media type mind.

Gordon Brown is an incompetent fool. Darling's half-decent, but Brown is too domineering over him

In a sense that part of the problem - the election is becoming more americanised with the emphasis on Party Leader - whereas ultimately it should be about policy.

Still, 5 more years of Gordon Brown would be preferrable to David Cameron - at least in my view anyway. (And that doesnt mean to say Im voting Labour, Im just definately not voting conservative)

I'm most certainly not advocating the Tories. They are equally as bad as Labour Wink

Not surprisingly, I don't give a damn about the British elections, that said, if the BNP wins anything more than they already have I'm am going to get pissed.

Tories, our MP has been Conservative for the last.. as long as I can remember.
The area has got worse, I will not be voting to re-elect my MP.

We may be disillusioned with politics, but there's no way, shape or form they're getting anything like any power whatsoever Wink

I live in one of the most safe Conservative seats in the country - that's why we need Proportional Representation rather than first past the post - something the Conservatives and Lib Dems are pushing through.

Have a go on the BBC thing which predicts how many seats each party gets depending on votes they get (you can set the votes). Labour can hold the most seats despite having the least votes.
