Yeah me too.
I'm getting a bit fed up with the Schlecks though and their: "The Tour is the only Grand Tour worth any effort".
It doesn't surprise me. They seem to have that kind of a snob and superior attitude towards most things.
Snob was the word I was looking for.

Linda Villumsen is no longer danish. That's their only decent female rider gone, then

Today's surprising news?
1. Sastre will not ride Tour de France. Instead, he'll be focusing on the Giro and the Vuelta.
He hasn't actually said that, he said he wasn't sure and and that he would wait until the Vuelta route was presented to decide.
He was quoted in EFE for saying that he wouldn't ride the Tour and would ride the Giro/Vuelta - not that he was thinking about it (which he has previously said, yes).
Anyway, I just read that Sastre said that he had been misquoted by EFE - so, this is a non-story.
About Villumsen, old news. |

posted on Monday on Sastre's own website, just to confirm the above
Monday, 26 October 2009
The Spanish cyclist is waiting to hear about the Vuelta route before deciding on his calendar
Now that the routes of the Giro and the Tour have been unveiled, the cyclist says that “now I only need to see the Vuelta a España route to decide what I want to do next season”.
He also added about the Giro
very attractive, with a final week defined by three mountain stages practically back to back, including all the legendary summits such as Gavia, Mortiriolo and the mountain finishes in Zoncolan and Plan de Corones, and a time trial that will be the cherry on the cake for a really hard Giro
Something tells me that he will definitely ride the Giro!
the rainbow jersey (...) It is unlike the yellow jersey in the Tour de France as you never know how long you get to wear that, and it will mean a great deal to me to wear it in Geelong for next year's race
It doesn't work that way dumbass

He should be quite embarrassed by that comment.

It's not that bad, is he not just saying that you never know how long he gets to wear the yellow jersey, whereas you know that you will be wearing the rainbow jersey for the next year.

About Linda Villumsem, I never really got why is it that she is chancing nationality? Does she has some kind of New Zealand extinct or something?

In a cruel twist of fate, Johan Bruyneel AKA "The Hog" has swine flu.
I laughed. loud. What are the odds it would happen to the ONE person in the sport who has that nickname?

That is really a big coincidence, sure.
PS: Do you still call it swine flu? That's been "prohibited" in Spain. |

That's weird, yes. The pig farmers complained, because that name gave the feeling that eating pig was dangerous. And, as this is Spain, instead of calm the people about the safety of the pig's meat consume, they changed the name of the flu to "A flu".
Trying to not to make an absolutely off topic post, Astana's name will be Samruk-Kazyna in 2010. |

It's new sponsor, I think they'll keep 'Astana' in the name... |
