Vuelta a Espana Final Stage
Since he was in a lot of brekaways this Vuelta, Devine decided to end it the same way. Rebellin is also there.
And the pack doesn't seem interested to chase after the escapes. This could be the first winning breakaway in Vuelta 2009, right in the last stage.
With 17 km we have the first attack from the breakaway group
Devine is there, keeping close
And John is puting all the energy left after 3 weeks in this attack
No one goes after him. Rebellin doesn't move from the chasing group
With 10 km left to ride from this year's Vuelta Devine has almost 1 minute advantage over the rest of the escapes
Just one kilometre between Devine and the biggest win of his carrer
John Devine wins the last stage of the Vuelta, ending a great tour for him, he also ended with the grey jersey of the best climber, and for his team, that achived 6 wins in Tour of Spain this year.

I always have problems with deciding if i want one of my "own" cyclers to win or take the jersey with one of cyclers under my control and give the jersey to another team.
EDIT: oh and keep up the good work, i do enjoy reading this story.

ITT World Championships
Kloden was the first rider to finish the race so he was the early leader and for a long time
Guttierez is always one of the favourites when it comes to TTs, but he couldn't beat Kloden today
Karpets is in a great form after his overall win in Vuelta, but he won't win today
Evans was last year second in both World Championships races and he won't first today either as Kloden is faster than him
Great time for Zabriskie beating Kloden. He is now the man to beat and in pole-position for the rainbow jersey
David's team-mate at Columbia, Bradley Wiggins, is the last man that can beat him but he is far away and the new Time - Trial World Champion!
Results
1. David Zabriskie 1h02'51
2. Andreas Klöden + 12

Nice Win!! 12 seconds is not much after 50k...
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.
