EDIT: Funny thing Contador winning the Giro even though apparently he isn't on top shape. I hope there's a lot of more exciting competition in the Tour with the Schleck brothers, Cunego, Ricco, Menchov, Evans (knee problems), and hopefully some new face to bright the scene, because otherwise, it will be boring seeing a man winning it all.
wim van huffel nah, il go with what Ruben said in the tour of belgium topic. Devolder being a favorite for the TDF now . |

Hope that Ricco can keep his 2nd place. He has been best in the mountains except sella of course but Contador are better in TT and will therefore win this years giro unless he get a flat tire or something.
P.S
Thought everyone had Ricco on a top 5 list of the riders they like best

I actually think Menchov is going to win the Tour. When Menchov dropped the others on the first mountain stage I had thought he had peaked to soon to be a legit contender at Le Tour, but now i don't think that to be the case. He looks to me like he is going to be right on schedule to be at top form for the Tour. Plus he should have some good help in Dekker. I would like to see how Valverde is progressing, but at the moment i think Menchov will be in Yellow in Paris.

I think this is Cadel's year, injured or not, he has the experience, and the patience to win. He may be boring to watch, but that is because he knows how to ride to win. He will beat all of the young guns because of his experience, and Menchov because frankly Cadel is better than him. He may not be flashy, but this year, the tour, with so many contenders, is going to be won by the smartest rider, not the strongest, and Cadel definitely is that. |

Personally i like Cadel's style of riding. His methodical climbing is good. Maybe because i can understand why he climbs like that, i can't jump around on climbs either, but am able to beat many guys up them at my own steady pace. Kind of like Ullrich, but hopefully on less drugs... As much as i'd like to see an old dog who appears to deserve a yellow jersey, i have my doubts as to whether Cadel will win this year. That's not to say he won't see the yellow jersey, but as to if he can keep it, i doubt it.

CSF won't be there. but if you think none of the others are doped, then they are without a doubt the finest crop of physically fit human beings who ever lived, seeing as their performances would dominate (not beat. DOMINATE) Merckx, Hinault, LeMond, etc... |

the same reason you believe Evans, menchov, etc. are clean:
because people need to believe
and I don't think there's anything wrong with that

Not many have seen Bruseghin on the podium in Milano before the giro. And maybe he is getting a step higher up today as number to, I think. I doesn't even think cunego could do aswell. So far it has been a successful gamble for lampre |

i want to believe. that he wins 1 stage : ok. that he becomes top 15, ok. but that he is top 10 and wins 3 stages. and 2 of those after an breakaway. thats a bit hard to believe.
the fact that i believe menchov and others more, is that they have cracked before this giro. all the top , non-caught stage racers of the moment have a moment of weakness in every stage race. have you seen sella having a bad day?B)

As I see it .. Schleck is way better than Dekker in the mountains .. I haven't seen Dekker ride well in the big mountains yet .. But who knows it might come at some point in his career .. Dekker is really good in the TT's whereas Schleck isn't that good..
But as many of you I'm looking forward to see some of the new faces like; Dekker, Gesink, Gerdemann, the schleck brothers etc. fight for the TdF win.. |
