Thanks all. Top 15 will be very hard as the time gaps are already quite big. Also riders like Rogers, Martin won`t lose much time in the timetrial.
@emmea: The rest day is different as I just changed the stage files in the DB not the dates. So the rest days are from the 2010 or 2011 course. |

Tour de France - Stage 18
Susa - La Plagne
Just 167km but 4 hard mountains to climb. Plus two more mountain stages befoer the final time trial. What an end in this Tour de France. Definitely the hardest since a long time.
Just 3 riders in the first group. Luckily Fuglsang is there again as also Evans and Mollema. 3 good climbers don`t give other riders any chance to join them. Behind them a group around Txurruka, Bouet or Roche tried it but will be caught soon.
The Dane is collecting more and more KoM points but it won`t help as Nibali already has a big advance and together with Kreuziger and Anton he is always sprinting for the last points. Plus Evans is ahead of Fuglsang and takes big points, too.
Unfortunately Mollema isn`t doing much in this group and also Evans seems to wait for something. So Fuglsang is doing 70% of the pace.
Everything under control with Astana doing the pace. It`s not that high, so the advance was 6min maximum.
Not even the final climb but Contador already attacked with 40km to go and just Andy is following a bit behind him. What a pity for Fuglsang as he has no chances now with this heavy acceleration behind.
On the descent Andy joined the group while Contador is 40s ahead. Evans is now doing all the work for his leader. That was probably the reason for his less work.
Nibali, Kreuziger and Van Den Broeck attacked and so Wiggins has to do the pace in the peloton. Quite successful as Fuglsang is caught now and helping Sanchez as good as possible now. Wiggins` pace is too high for the rest of the group and so he creates a gap, while Kreuziger has to pay tribute to the fight for the mountain jersey.
Contador with an dominant win after a 40km solo. Almost the same effort with a short break did Andy Schleck who finished 1min behind. Probably this was the final decision now for the Tour win, although there are still 2 hard stages left.
After the solo riders Nibali, Van Den Broeck and Wiggins, Kreuziger leads the first big group into the finish with +3'17. Good to have Sanchez in this group, so he won`t lose time on his biggest opponents.
Fuglsang had no energy left in the end and is 1min behind this group together with Brajkovic, Martin or Van Garderen.
Also 9 more riders felt out of the time limit. Most famous of them probably Boasson Hagen. So Haussler is the last real sprinter left in the peloton next to Sagan, who is the far better climber. Great performance by our Australian sprinter, who felt back on the 4th in the points ranking today.
Other riders that abandoned today: Martens, Nuyens, Posthuma, Cornu, Kuschynski, Ignatiev, Devenyns and Moerenhout.

Quite a surprise to see him that good. Nice stats but not better than the 15 behind him and also weaker than LLS. |

Hmmm, wierd that EBH couldn't stay within the time limit... Good stage anyway, hope you stay out of trouble and end up top 20! |

Thanks all.
@ VladuuTs: I was very afraid, too. But my riders were peaking now with 99 fitness. Also Astana isn`t doing the big pace any more.
@ emmea: Fuglsang won it. It`s the white snowy picture.
@ Freitas: 15 was jsut a spontaneous number. Actually Le Mevel is the bigger surprise as he is 78mo,75hi. So even weaker but with French bonus. TenDam, Lövkvist and Rogers are all between 76-77 but better time trialists (71-76).
@ mowinckel91: Indeed. I was also very surprised to see him there. Maybe he crashed somewhere and I haven`t noticed.
@ tsmoha: Unfortunately not. This could have been a funny one between Haussler and Sagan. Next best sprinters Vaugrenard, Roche, Velits
BTW: Löw is still doing very well in his first Grand Tours. He is 10th (and last) in the U25 ranking due to his time loss on the flat stages but with good chances to overtake Kennaugh. |

Thanks Pellizotti2.
Tour de France - Stage 19
Moutiers - Briancon
One of the shorter but still hard mountain stages leads the riders over the Col de la Madeleine (HC), Col du Telegraph (1) and Col du Galibier (HC) before the long descent towards Briancon and the short final uphill sprint there.
In relationship to tomorrow`s stage this might be easier and better for an attack, so we want to be in the group.
Luis Leon Sanchez with a first try today. Next to him Cadel Evans, who else? Actually this is the stage I had in mind for an attack with him since I sucked in the first two mountain stages.
Some kilometers later other riders joined after doing a slower pace with Sanchez as Evans wasn`t helping him.
Bouet, Coob Acebo (Movistar), Mollema (Colnago), Péraud (Omega), Geniez (Skil), Loubet (Ag2r) and also Lance Armstrong (Shack) in this last Tour de France.
Astana is controlling the peloton as usual with a gap of 5min to teh breakaway. Ten Dam, who obviously fears his top 15 attacks.
Half the way to the Telegraphe Contador with a very early attack as already yesterday. The gap is still 4'50, but he is so much faster. Also the peloton accelerates of course and so the chances for Sanchez become smaller again.
Fuglsang is within the ~20 rider group as lonely Garmin rider together with most GC contenders. Riders like Nibali or Van Den Broeck are attacking now as also Andy Schleck followed Contador earlier.
Half the way done on the Galibier when Contador reached the front group and immediately split them. Evans as single rider tried to stay with him, Sanchez was riding his own pace a few meters behind them while all other riders couldn`t follow.
Some time later Andy also reached Sanchez and Evans, who couldn`t stay with Contador, who is 1 minute ahead, Another amazing performance by the Spaniard, but also by Sanchez today.
Andy, who is more fresh now created a small gap of 40s until the top.
On the long descent Sanchez and Evans were brought back to Andy due to Nibali`s great descent skills. Also Van Den Broeck, Wiggins and Le Mevel are now in this group chasing Contador.
Thanks to the long descnet Sanchez has no big problems to stay with them and can even save some energy for the final decision.
But no decision for the stage win. Contador takes this one without any problems. He is just unbeatable if he is in top form. He is also the favourite for the next two stages.
Van Den Broeck was the only one with a short acceleration in the end. So he takes the 2nd. LL Sanchez, who had his wheel benefit of this situation and gets a very strong 3rd on this stage and even created a small gap to the rest of the group. He will definitely improve in the ranking today.
Fuglsang is reaching the finish with the first big group behind them 4min later but still ahead of some well placed riders such as Karpets.
